Change in approach attracts pretty lady. Thanks all

I posted a thread about how you would approach an old site that has given up many silvers for me this year and had about 5 responses. All i can say is you guys rock.Ultrashovelhead gave me the best advice and that was always hunt with a good attitude.I truly believe it worked.I could have easily been hunting in the high 80 degree weather after an hour and a half of just 2 wheat cents and got frustrated or decided it was time to go when the fire ants were biting me inside my knee pads as i dug another can, but i knew there was more here.I hunted in manual at 28 so it was driving me crazy listening to the chatter as the sweat dripped off my glasses then i got the first merc. After that my second silver was what i thought was a barber dime but turned out to be my second seated 1876 dime from this site, and finally a really nice looking merc.I cant wait to get back to the park and search more ground with my new attitude.

good hunt,,,,, when I get aggravated I try to change my mind-set or I leave....

Congratulations,Very Nice finds there.
I am betting there are more.
It is a definate plus to be hunting somewhere you know there are old coins, opposed to hunting a spot
you are not sure if there is anything old there.
You sound like a kid with a new toy,and i am happy for you.
Remember low and slow ,
we'll be waiting for more posts.
Best of luck LabradorBob

Awesome job Charlie! Sounds like a "can do 'tude" man!!!! Thanks for the pictures and congratulations on the finds.

Wow - beautiful coins for sure !

From what I've learned - yes, a positive attitude and confidence in your machine is a huge plus.

And like LabradorBob said - low and slow is also very important - when I hunt a place like the one your hunting now - a lot of times I'll just take one step forward - stand still - and swing slow - listen for a hit - till I'm sure there's nothing there - then take a step forward and repeat the process. This style of slow hunting has resulted in some real nice finds !

Its odd you say that mark about taking 1 step forward and sweeping slowly.I got a call on my cell phone and answered it while leaning my etrac up against my body and coil on the ground and low and behold there was a coin underneath the coil when i put my headphones back on after ending the call, which really makes me understand the importance of moving slowly especially at a place that you think is hunted out.The etrac is an amazing machine and i cannot wait to learn something new about her.

congratulations, sweet dimes! i think it always comes back to "what will/might/could i find today?" if i get discouraged i think about the things ive found in the past. good research, a good spot, a good detector, and a good attitude. you have to have them all. now finding some silver is a HUGE confidence boost.....sometimes I just detect hoping for that boost. I see you like to fish, its just like fishing, that LONG wait till you get that first bite, then it seems easier after that because what youre doing was affirmed. (yes, you DO know what youre doing, this will work.) Im not preaching to ya as much as talking to myself a bit, I had a terrible day yesterday, four promising spots, and not one single coin. But Im going somewhere today and Im gonna find something good.

seateds R O C K !!!!! you da man for hanging in there buddy and it totally paid off!!!!
