Clad and a silver ring

dgc

New member
Hunted for 2 hours in a vacant lot next to a Church downtown this morning. Got a handful of clad and a silver ring. By 9:30 am the heat and humidity were getting tough so I called it quits. Got to go back when I can work more slowly and check for deeper targets.

Congratulations on the ring and the clad. That's the nice thing about detecting. You can even get clad. Though clad usually doesn't make us glad...its still adds!!! You can't say that about most other hobbies!

Ha, you're right Neb. I usually know its clad before I dig based on the depth reading. But, you never know for sure till you dig it up. I read about fairly shallow silver coins being found quite often. Its just fun to go dig.

Hope you had a good 4th.

Your absolutely right about depth. I can't let a good signal go, even with zinc pennies. The reason is my 3 oldest coins 1887, 1885 IH's and a 1883 V nickel were all less than 3 inches down.

Great job, don't you just love the little surprises that pop up once in a while.
I did that a while back and i thought it was gonna be a quarter.
