Could I have a show of hands if you own an Ace 250/150

New member
Going on 3 years with the Ace 250. Went through several Whites, and a Tesoro V. The White are a great machine, but they get heavy after awhile.
But still long for the one I started with. Just old memories.
I read of many that have had problems with the Ace was due to ground conditions, or problems with pin pointing.
I do have to admit there was a learning curve at first with pin pointing, but that resolved it self quickly.
I live in upper New York. I've travel to Maine and even Florida with it and it never let me down.
When I bought the Ace I also bought the 9" x 12", and last year purchased the new 10" x 14" DD coil that Kellyco put out.
Love that new coil a lot.
Last year with knee surgery that put a damper on my finds, but the year before was something to be proud of.
Look forward for a good hunting season.

Hi Bruce I live in Missouri and have used the Ace 250 for a little over two years now and love it . I also use a Whites MXT and as you say the whites does get heavy after a few hours of swinging it so always good to go back to my ace for awhile and I always grab it for the tot lots and real trashy area's . Should be a few million people out there using the Ace 250 the way they sell . Good Hunting

Hi Bruce i had the 150 an just traded up to the 250. I live in Missouri also an we have lots of snow so i haven't got to use it yet. just been reading these forums a lot trying learn all i can. Looking forward to getting out to try it out! HH

A friend of mine has been MDing for many years. I asked for his suggestion ...and what he thought of the 250.
He said; "All the comments on that machine are positive. You can't go wrong."
I also got the PRO pointer.

As the snow is still on the ground...I visit this forum daily ( great advice and people here. )

and.. I'm making a list of places to MD with my ACE 250 in the Spring.
 
Nothing ever keeps you down.
Will be posting more this year. Damn knee surgery really killed me last year.
All I did was read the posts and dream in 09.

my first machine was an ace 250 and i still own it and still use it, its a rock for a small priced machine imo..:clapping::garrett:
 
They are not cheap...they are inexpensive...know the difference.

The price on the ACE 150 / 240 is a plus..not a negative.
 
Usually go down once a year. Stayed in kissimmee, but now usually hang out in Clearwater Beach. Even been by Halk Hogan's place several time.
Some bad weather down there this winter. This year were going to fly in to Florida and head out for a cruise for a week.

I use the ACE 250 and GTI 2500, love them both.
 
Hi all I live down under in NSW Australia and recently purchased an Ace 250 after spending several months researching a wide range of detectors it finally came down to a choice of two an Australian made Minelab or the Garrett and with the massive price difference and the very similar capability and features the Garrett Ace 250 won the day.

would appreciate it if anybody could tell me how to turn the volume down when using head phones, I currently use ear plugs but would prefer not to have to

Hi Dave.
What part of the state do you live in?
You'll find that the Ace is a real killer on our goldies!
I personally put a couple of layers of electrical tape over speaker. You can either buy head phones with a volume control or buy some really cheap ear buds or head phones. Because they are so cheap, they use poor quality wire which creates resistance. This causes the volume to be noticeably lower.:thumbup:
