Etrac is on it's way back

I talked to the bench tech at minelab factory service on Friday. The guy found that my unit had some sort of intermittent coil problem. They are going to replace the coil they don't fix them and send it back on Tuesday. Can't wait I've got two sites ready to go. They claim 10-15 days repair but that means business days so it pretty much out a month if you send your unit out. They are replacing the coil at no charge for a three year old unit so no bitching here just glad it's on it's way back. All in all they treated me very well and just as they said they would time ways.

My Buddy sent his E-TRAC in .....it was almost three years old!.....got it back in less than a month....good as new...no charge!!!!!:clapping:..............his just stopped turning on?.............................Of course he couldn't wait a month...(think he went through WITHDRAWS)
So he went out and brought another one.......Moral of the story....when you have to Swing ....you have to Swing!!!

I received my Etrac back within 17 days after sending it out to Minelab for repair

free coil? sweet! im happy for you and that sounds like great customer service to me. thats reassuring.

What were your E-Trac's symptoms?

It just became very squirrelly falseing no depth.
Very cool of them to replace the coil at no cost. It's a very early Etrac and not in warranty as far as I know.
 
thanks for the quick come-back. my old detector (whites 6000) blue box, would do the same thing. my problem now is, im not experienced enough to recognize it (with the etrac). the etrac is so chatty. sometimes it seems like its going nuts but i cant tell if thats normal or not. :shrug:

the only thing I would say is to slow down your swing and see how it acts then. I don't find the Etrac to be chatty at all but I come from minelab explorers which were pretty chatty I think.
good luck with your unit it does take some time to be at ease with them all.
 
Good to here your getting your machine back soon - a month is a long time to be with out it !

Sure is and my back up unit is on loan to a friend. Hes having such a good time I couldnt ask for it back.
I'm going to a Forum hunt next week in NH so the unit will be back just in time.
 
what address do you use to send your etrac in for repairs. now and then my will restart on its own or shut off. i still have 5 months before its two years old.

I'm currious to know what everones problems were besides the OP. I'm new to the machine and was just currous.
