first seated, and possibly most expensive coin

it’s been quite some time since i’ve swung the old at pro. our town did a small sidewalk tear out and had to hit it asap before anyone else got there. being a old part of town, i figured for some goodies. total of silver was 4 dimes. first was a merc, second was a 1902 s mint barber, then got my first seated dime! 1891 s. couldn’t believe it. then not knowing what i had til i got home and ran it under water was a 1903 s minted barber!!!!! it’s in unbelievable condition. what a find. not sure what to do with it. see what grade i could get on it? or look to sell it ungraded. some as nice are going for 900-1000.00 on ^%$&* who knows if i could get that much, but still exciting.

Way to go!!! I'm happy for you! Congratulations, that's awesome!

Very nice finds love sidewalk tear outs you could do eBay with a reserve or get it graded.

I just bought a 2018 large print Whitman coin guide book in spiral with excellent color images for examining and grading US coins. I find lots of coins and this is a must have. Spiral lays flat and large print is a gift to my eyes. Peace Roy

Congrats on the great finds !

If your considering selling any coins - I'd take them to one or two local coin shops and get their opinions in person.
Ask them how they would grade the coins - is it worth sending them out to be professionally graded, what's the real value, etc. ?

Good Luck !

Very nice key date Barber Dime.

That 1903 S dime is in great shape...well done! A lot of coin shops will try to give you pennies on the dollar for "dug coins"...and they're looking to profit from it anyway. Some are better/worse than others...I'd list it on the usual place and set your price, and wait. Collector demand for the coin will eventually pay off! In the meantime get back there and look for the 1901 S dime!!! :clapping:
