I found this review on line and it makes me feel a little uneasy because I will be picking up a vaquero soon. I want to know if anyone agrees with this review and findings and has the same experience. This makes me nervous to say the least. Now this guy is supposed to be in Canada and not sure that makes a difference but I am very concerned on what he has to say on operation and performance. This is also the first time I read anything negative about this company.
"Received my Vaquero only to find out after multiple air tests that something was wrong with it (could not sense anything further than 6 inches, including a 10oz silver bar). It literally has the performance of a $50 treasure hunter from Canadian tire, but worse because it gives false readings.
I contacted the company and they want me to pay $100 to send this thing back, with the hopes they will fix it. I already paid $550.00 and now they want me to send the broken garbage back. Perhaps it is a good metal detector, when it's working. Biggest lesson I learned was to never spend this much money online, and that there is most likely a reason why they offer a 25 year warranty....trust me I must of spent 50 hours researching this metal detector. It's sitting in my closet and I plan on selling it to recoup $400 out of my $550. If your going to buy a metal detector that is more than $200, don't buy it online, walk into a store and make sure it works before you physically hand over the dollar bills."
Any comments?????
