Had to work hard for silver today:stretcher: 2 Seated Dimes , SL Quarter & a crusty Wheaty

Almost 5 hours of hard hunting in to tall grass at another old no longer used fair ground. The hay was cut last fall and now it is covered with 3"-5" stubble:rant: Makes it hard to get any depth but I am still happy with my finds. The one seated dime is wore slick on the face and the other is a 1876 plain and the quarter that" DrBob":poke: has been searching for can just be made out to be a 1917 plain.Labrador Bob the maps moderator was kind enough to join me for the last few hours of the hunt.I hoped he would hit a nice silver but it was not to be this time. Now I need a hot shower to ease my aching back,Ray.
PS Note the rust stains on both dimes :minelab::thumbup:

Nice finds Ray,I enjoyed the hunt,i was cleaning out the shotgun shell bases so you could find more!
It was getting cold out there.

Yes that misting rain and strong north wind was getting very cold and it looks like it will stay cold for a few days.Maybe we can go again when it warms up a little,Ray.

Great job, Ray!

Wow Ray, I'm so freakin happy for you, can't you see that big smile:|

I've gone almost everyday this week and al I have to show for it is a pile of wheaties and a pile of minie balls and musket balls:rage: Can't even squeak out a silver roosie.

But I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy for you and all the Barbers, and Seated you are finding , and that dad gum Standing Liberty is just icing on the cake. Makes me just want to jump for joy then give up:jump::goodnight:

Your going to have to move to a diffrent state!

Or at least drive more than 40 miles one way to some new to me sites.I feel a spring road trip is in my near future:thumbup:

Beautiful!! Love to see them old coins!!

I know I am just a rookie and all but I read somewhere that hunting in taller grass can be "easier" if you take a flattened cardboard box, put over the grass and scan over it. Of course you have to move it, and flatten the grass every couple of scans but hey, if It helps to find seateds, it might be worth it yes? :bouncy: Anyway, just a little "trick" to keep in the arsenal!
