What a pleasant happening, warm weather on the last day of the year, and I decided to take advantage of it hoping to get one last good hunt in and hopefully end the year up with a bang. I went out in the morning to the old school where earlier this year I found a gold ring and a lot of wheats. After finding some clad I got a 11-43 signal that jumped around a bit to 09-44 and back again to 11-43, tone was good so I had some hope of getting a keeper, imagine my surprise at finding at about 5 to 6 inches a Mercury dime. I could see the top and knew it was a Merc and after retrieving it my heart started pumping because I could see the date 1916! The back was covered with dirt so I could not see if that illusive D was there but I put some water on it and still could not tell so I waited until I got home
