How Sweet It Is!

What a pleasant happening, warm weather on the last day of the year, and I decided to take advantage of it hoping to get one last good hunt in and hopefully end the year up with a bang. I went out in the morning to the old school where earlier this year I found a gold ring and a lot of wheats. After finding some clad I got a 11-43 signal that jumped around a bit to 09-44 and back again to 11-43, tone was good so I had some hope of getting a keeper, imagine my surprise at finding at about 5 to 6 inches a Mercury dime. I could see the top and knew it was a Merc and after retrieving it my heart started pumping because I could see the date 1916! The back was covered with dirt so I could not see if that illusive D was there but I put some water on it and still could not tell so I waited until I got home

Nice finds there.
Glad you got out,Best of luck in 2011.

Great "end of the year hunt" Tony! Thanks for sharing the video and the pictures, as well as the story with us! Congratulations on the finds and I'm already looking forward to seeing your finds next year. See ya on the flip side.

Congratulations on the nice finds and especially on your first Buff! It's always fun to make a "first" find on a coin you haven't found before--of course, the fun does continue when you find your second and so on. Isn't this hobby great!?! Thanks for the story and pictures.

Congrats on your great hunt and weather!

Very nice finds and great video Bell, you had a fine year

Very nice!
Seriously - the heavy wear on the 1916 Merc really gives it character !

Nice rewarding hunt ! Thanks for the videos.

Bell-Two,
Great finds and thanks for the video and pictures. I know a guy who bought a 1916D and later found that the "D" had been added.
