Hunted curb strips all day..GOOD silver day!

Today I met up with my buddies Kyle (Nooberz) and Jaime. We headed to an old section of town and started hunting the curb strips. Did pretty well.

Managed to find a nice load of wheats, oldest was 1914, ...and 4 silver coins:
1943P war nickel, 1939 Merc, 1906 Canadian dime, and a 1901 barber dime.

I simply cannot believe I dug ANOTHER old canadian dime, especially after digging the 1899 just yesterday....wow, very cool Made my day!

and of course the day wouldn't be a G4E day without an indian.....1905
that is indian #15 for the year. Hunting curbs is a lot of fun!

Nice finds! Do you hunt in front of houses? If so, do you ask the homeowner first?

nope, I emailed the mayor's office and they confirmed it IS city property and they gave me the go-ahead to detect..........not a single person said a word to us

Man, I wish I had it that good here. I could not get one single individual down at the city to commit to who actually owns the ones in my town. The best I could get out of them is that it is a city easement.

Parkways can be hit or miss...but man when they do hit!
The 1st time I really tried TTF was in a parking strip full of iron...
& it had recent plugs to boot...
In like 20 feet & 20 minutes I got 2 v-nickels, a buffalo, 2 barber dimes, & a barber quarter...
Needless to say, I was instantly sold on the TTF!
I headed up the block thinking it was gonna be loaded & got a few wheat pennies, oh well...

Hey Goes, you never disappoint, man...way to go on a great day of strip searching!

(&, by the way, it was you & this forum that got me into a serious TTF mode of thinking)

Nice finds! Congratulations! Love curb hunting.

Your kicking major butt Terry - keep up the good work !!!

Well , I`m gonna start htiing them hard. I was under ther impression that the curb strips were city easement.

Curb strips in most city's and towns are city easements or right of ways, There for if city property is open to detecting then so are the "strips" between the sidewalk and street. I hunt them alot where I live and they are definitely a gold mine. I am also fortunate because I live in a college town and alot of the houses in town are student rentals so the landlords do not mind if you hunt them. I would definitely be care full about just walking up and hunting any of these strips I wanted because alot of property owners think they own them and also they take care of them. You sure don't want a bunch of peed off property owners(also city tax payers) to go to city hall and start complaining. I would almost guarantee that the city board will side with the tax payers and might get detecting banded! I have stopped and asked alot of times if I could hunt those strips and never been turned down. I was told one time by a home owner that I didn't need to ask because that was city property but he said he respected the fact that I asked him anyway. I'm just afraid if I just start hunting all of these strips without asking even if it's legal it could cause very negative press which could lead to a ban in that city. Just my 2 cents. HH.
