it looks a bit scratched up because it was buried on a sandy hillside (almost pure sand) and i guess it slid down over the years amongst the sand and rocks. i was sooo careful with transporting and cleaning it. it only read about 12-41 (its thin i guess) but this area, almost everything is good and OLD. (but theres very, very little of it) it just looked like a very thin gray disc at recovery and i knew it was gonna be something good when i got it home to clean it. wow....im so happy with this one. hope you all like the pics. this is only my third seated.

That's a great find. I wish I could find one of those. Congratulations. I tried to enhance your
photos so others could see the coin details.

Very nice,I love seated coins,Many congrats on a terrific find.

Very nice.......Seated still eludes me.

I'm glad for you as that is one old coin that you finally woke from a very long sleep...WTG

That's just great! Way to go and thanks for the great pictures. I too have found that worn seated and worn barbers will come in like wheats. Mercs have always come in like they should, but the worn older silver doesn't always play by the rules. I've also noticed its a lot harder to scuff up a Merc, but a barber won't hardly even take a "flicking" without leaving very tiny scratches. Just my observation.

WELCOME TO YOUR COIN BACK INTO THE WORLD i think it will be a bit of a different world from the one it was in before interesting this old timer came in at 12.41 i hope that sends a few messages to anyone walking away from those 12.40 signals WHOOOOPS

Jab taken well, Sugar. C'mon out to my part of the world and dig all my screwcaps up, so I can get on with digging the good stuff. There are thousands of silver dimes waiting for you. I have a bucket full of 12-41's you can send to the smelter, just come and get them:rofl:............NGE

Very nice Seated Dime !

thanks everyone for the nice comments. that is definitely one of my best finds. i KNOW and you all know there is one out there...SOMEWHERE... for every one of us. good luck! about the number, i remember it had a nice smooth tone. i would never not dig up anything even half good sounding here at this area. i dug up a lot of junk, beleive me. my only other coin was a 1944 wheat.

WOOOHOOO on the seated buddy!!! makes your heart pound huh!!!!

Beautiful coin the scratches just give it character! Every barber dime I dug this year came in at a solid 41 you cannot count on dimes to be 12-45
