plant a coin test garden to find out.You must make sure your soil is "sanitary" as in no foreign metals near where you bury your coins.
A silver dime at 6" and 8" is a good start.
I will state that my E-Trac in coins mode and manual sensitivity at 26 , stock coil, fast on,deep off, gain at 26,multi-tone conductive will hit a silver dime freshly buried in mildly mineralized damp compacted soil at 9" with a brisk sweep speed. It will give high silver tones and id a bit jumpy.Bump the sens. up to 30 and it hits quite well but we all know there are few sites that can be hunted at manual 30 sens. without a lot of noise/falsing.
After doing the above you think your machine is not up to par your best bet is to start by testing with a different coil if possible and go from there.
