Now that I just bought an Etrac, of course a new one will be coming shortly, it's imminent :drinking:
Yes Brian, it will be coming out in Sept.----or Oct.----or Nov.----or----or----???-------Hey, it doesn't matter, we got one GREAT detector in the Etracs we have right now!:)-------Del

Del I've been reading posts, Andy's book, and watching youtube videos. I'm taking her out on her maiden voyage this weekend, I can't wait to see what she can do :detecting:

Hey that's great Brian!------You're going to love that detector.----I believe you have (mineralized) ground similar to what we do here in OR and they handle it very well.-----You will probably be posting up some finds making all our tongues hang out before you know it!----------Del

I hope they do something about the weight and balance for us bad shoulder guys! I thought I was just getting older until I bought another CZ-3D as a second machine. I use to think that was a little heavy with the housing still on the rod. But I have been using it now for a month about 4 days a week with little if any shoulder pain? I was kind of suprised as a CZ isn't the most balanced machine in the world,But still better way than the E-trac/Explorer! If it wasn't so awesome in the iron I would get rid of it in a newyork minute!

I found the E-Trac much better balanced for me but then I am only 5'-6" and run the rods fully extended.Get much more coverage per sweep that way:)

am I the ONLY guy who thinks the etrac is NOT heavy, and is balanced great!? I can hunt all day with no arm, shoulder fatigue at all

No problem swinging the machine all day long, when I get tired in one arm I just switch. Works great for me. But I have to buy a new showel, thats a heavy one.

Metal Detectors are kind of like computers,
Anyone can turn one on,but learning to operate it and keep it working correctly
is up to the user.
There have been a lot of posts go through this forum, people asking,What do you do in this situation,
do you do this,do you do that.
Sure the E Trag will find coins if you just turn it on and go.
But if you do not learn how to make changes, and get the best out of the detector at any given sight,
then you are missing what the detector is capable of.

I for one,am still learning, that to me is part of the fun of it.
I also use to go detecting and if i didn't find any old coins or silver,I assumed there were none there!

I was proved wrong! Why? Because at that time i felt if it was there the detector would find it and give me the perfect sounds and readings!
It was because of lack of user experience, which was to me a great and confusing feeling.
I'm now thinking,i have been over so many good places and not found any old coins,or very few.
Why is the other person finding them,or how is he finding them, what do they sound like, how does he know?
I tell you how,
User learning and experience!
Putting in the time needed to learn the detector and what it is telling you.
If you are not digging the iffy signals, then you are not learning.
Look at Ray-Mo's posts,Look at goes4ever's posts.
I am referring to the ones they give that show what ferrous and conductive numbers they are digging.
They didn't go over the target and see that it didn't register perfect, they went over it and dug it to see what it was,
to learn,to see why it registered as it did.
Ok,enough before i write a book here lol!
The point is, LEARN don't think as i did that i was finding everything that was there,or the more experienced
will be the one finding the goodies.
It takes a lot of time and patience, but in the end, when you are digging silver from sites that have been gone over for many many years
there is a satisfaction of knowing it is not just the detector alone that is allowing you to find them, it is the experience you have gained.
The E-Trac is one of if not the best detector out there, Learn and never quit learning. It will reward you and is something no one can take away.

Try tweaking the length of the E-TRAC often. Especially going up/down even slight grades. I make it shorter and longer even on level ground and, for me, it helps a lot. I reallt like that about the Explorer/E-TRAC detectors... that it is so quick and easy to tweak the length. That is a MOJOR plus for me. I have heard that they wont be designing any more machines with the level locks due to cost, I think it's a mistake. I will pay extra for something that makes life so much easier. I am not nearly as quick to adjust the length of a detector with a camlock and a button/hole setup.

NO, I have had disc problems for years and have a lot of back pain. I can use the E-TRAC longer and with less discomfort than the T2 or F75, both of which are lighter. There is no machine that is better balanced (for me) than the E-TRAC.

There is a new E-Trac coming......to my house in 2 weeks! Can't wait to put my ACE350 up in the closet and dig some of that deep silver!

Hi Guys,
The burning question is when do we get a new e-track. Or F-TRACK. or even a geeeeeeeeetrack.

Regards Below2doe.

A lot of non E-Trac users are hoping for a new release. The one thing that stopped me from getting one has been the balance related to the weight. (I know many have no problem, but some use a bunjee, so that tells you something.) I'm not knocking the unit, I know it's great and I'm really looking forward to the next one and am PLANNING on buying one! I've contacted Minelab through emails and told them about the weight/balance and recovery speed (perhaps more important here in Europe where there is older and generally more iron). I'm sure the next unit will address this. They have lost sales to the Deus in Europe so I'm sure they are going to come out with something lighter, faster when needed and probably with wireless headphones (I love them). Lot's of competition these days thankfully.

I have never used an E-trac, but what would you all like to see in the next version or replacement?

Looking forward to seeing what comes out like everyone else is.

Minelab updates their detectors every three years and the E-Trac came out in September 08
minelab we are waiting :clapping:
