Got out Sat. afternoon and found the Barbers and 925 ring at a small hammered public site.It was quite dry and nothing over 6" deep but all in heavy nails. All found with the 8x6 SEF coil going very slow and digging iffy signal that mostly only hit one way because of the nails. Amazing how the dry soil helps unmask in the iron.I never dreamed the half was even silver at only 4" because of all the nails. Just a miracle I never scratched it .
The quarter and V nickle were in the same hole and was a very solid but strange sounding signal at 6".
Found the half dime at my old burnt CW town site in solid nails by the millions. TTF with the pro coil at 5". It is amazing what I could hit going slow in the very dry pasture. Only hunted there about 3 hours and had to quit at 3:30 as no shade and official temp of 103
About melted down but the little lady made my day even if she is scratched so badly.
As an interesting side note all three coins I have found at this site were dated 1853.First a dime and then a quarter and now this ......
