by anyone that's hunted for (say more than 5 minutes) with their Sunray in-line probe in the "on" position.-------Me first-- ---I hunted the full length of the inside of a building in an old fairgrounds once with it on (I'm not too smart)! ----I did have enough sense to go back & hunt the same ground over though!!! :) ----------Del

Me:rolleyes:

Wait till you hit pinpoint and forget to turn it back off, Not that i did that or anything:surprised:
:lmfao:]

Same here! I've done it at least 2x for fairly long periods and when I noticed I certainly felt stupid. Oh well. The value of having it far outweighs the trouble it may cause when it accidentally gets left on. :)

Happens at least once per hunt for me. I always try to find my last dig and start again from there. I've gotten better about it though and check more often.

it was more like a minute or two, and I've done it multiple times.

always happens - you know after about 5 minutes when you get nothing but the same weird signal every so often...

Oh for sure.If you haven't then you haven't hunted much.Boy do I curse when I do that.I knew I wasn't the only one.

How many have managed to get to where your going and not have a digging tool.ME

:crylol::super::clapping::yo::nono::clap::thumbup::wave:

GUILTY as charged! 7 min. was my first and I'd thought I'd found the trashiest place on the planet, because I keep my 8" CeeTee's (pliers) on my right hip and the coil also is right there when I'm swingin'. Have done it a couple of times since but getting better at recognizing what's going on.

Funniest thing is I knew I was blushing from embarrasment and there wasn't anyone else within a mile of me!

I hear ya Troy---Plumb embarrassing, ain't it?----That happen at Broken Bow????

North of there about 20 miles on a homesite my landlord owns. Cool thing was, after that embarassment, I hit a spot where I think the former houseowners cleaned out the car. I found about $2 in clad just waving the X-1 over a spot about the size of a car hood.

Yep,

For about 10 min. I'm thinking "Man, this place is full of pull tabs".....till I realized that my probe was on and it was picking up my wedding ring.

I have had that "doh!" (THINK Homer Simpson) moment more times than I'd like to admit. Still, the sunray probe is great, wouldn't want to hunt without it.

Well iv forgot in on a lot wen i first got it, I found a GOLD Ring with another Detector and i wear it on my Little finger I use to swing my E-Track ,
So wen i hear the same sound it tells me I forgot it on, And yes wen i dident have the Ring on my finger iv went over 5 min, hope this helps, Mickfin

I have but it was intentional as I was using the probe as a mini detector next to some iron framework .Otherwise a couple of min. and the light comes on for me :help:

I use a Pocket Uni-Probe, so don't have that problem. However, I have walked a long way to a spot, got a great signal, then I noticed I forgot my @#$% digging tool - ARGH!

Hi all: yep and still catch myself but gotten much better, had a gent call me after purchasing an E-trac/Sun Ray x-1 and kinda reemed me a bit that it was broken and not working. I said lets walk through this and see whats wrong. Question 1 was did you set up the machine properly turn on etc, question # 2 is the probe switch to coil or probe, got real quiet on the phone, heard him say thanks and he hung up. Ended that session, I saw him recently and he says it is the greatest setup he ever purchased, his wife told me he was real embarrased after that call, I told her that I do it all the time.:rage: Hardrock
