thanx for postin them. I saved 'em.

I have Sphinx moths that hit my butterfly bushes at night, they fly just like humming birds.
Jim, your id looks dead on.

Attached itself to the side of our house one evening & morning. Georgia Bugs.
The Yellow moth has two different types of faces. The first looks like an owl, the second looks like a critter with whiskers

humming bird moths. They are not sphinx moths.
Two different moths.
Here is a (poor) pic of a hummingbird moth i cot in my yard back in July.
It is quite difficult to see, it is in flight, to the left of the highest flower
in front of the big tree in the background.
It was very unusual to see it at this time of day.

You may be right Jim, it seems like i have seen others that fly like hummingbirds.
I have 8 butterfly bushes, 5 of which are 10 years old or older, they attract all
kinds of exotic birds when they go to seed. One was about the size of a chickadee
with a curved beak about a inch long. I wish i could have got a picture of it.

Jim, i didn't realize it at the time but i see all kinds of those in the day time.
Here is something like what i am talking about along with yours.
The more i think about the more i know i have seen other ones at night
almost as big as humming birds.
