My 2007 year end total of SILVER and INJUNS from my HUNTED OUT Sites

Well it was a pretty good year for me considering the sites I hunted. I told myself many months ago I was going to go back to the same 2 pounded sites that my buddies gave up on a few years ago. When I had more time on my hands a few years ago...I hunted with a couple of guys 3 or 4 times each week for hours on end at these 2 sites...but not with my SE. With my "on call" work status I truly never had time to hit new places or do much research this year. When I hunted...90% of the time it would be for just a couple of hours at the exact same 2 sites I'm speaking of because I simply needed to take full advantage of the little time I did have. I set my goal to try and reach 50 silver coins and 20 indian heads from these worn out sites. I ended the year with 102 Silver coins...and around 80 of those came from the 2 "hunted out" sites I'm speaking of. I also made 3 or 4 trips to St. Louis to hunt a few hours at pounded to death Forest Park with some buddies...and believe it or not...BOTH Half dimes came from there. I also found my Capped Bust Dime at a St. Louis park this year.
I think what I'm most proud of though is the fact that I popped out 40 Indian Head cents this year from these beat to death places...by far my best year ever for injuns. One of them came from 10" down which just amazed me. Trust me...no site is ever hunted out.
Yep...this year has been good to me. After 30 years of hunting I found my first large cent...my first half dime...make that TWO half dimes...my first capped bust dime...and the 40 injuns. I also located a ring for a lady and on the same hunt found a 14K earing loaded with diamonds.
I met some great new friends and hunting buddies this year so hopefully next year I can meet them in St. Louis for some diggin'. I had some good hunts with Mike Moutray...GOLDDIGGER...Holedigger (Dennis)...Niterider_58 (Phil)...Mark MO...Crowduck...and many more. Thanks guys...we sure had some fun. Dennis...and Phil...on a couple of our hunts...we weren't even sure what I'd found cause' we didn't have our glasses with us. I remember looking in a puzzled way at the coin like a couple of goofs because we couldn't even make out exactly what it was:clapping:
The pics below are as follows...1) Half dimes, bust dime. Walker, SLQ, and older silver..2) Rest of the Barber dimes-1 in another pic...3) Quarters and Rosey's...4) 31 of the 40 Injuns-rest are in another pic...5) 34 of the 44 Mercs-rest are in another pic...6) 4 Bags of Silver...injuns...wheaties etc that I havent cleaned or put in holders yet...that make my totals what they are. Also in this pic is the box of 546 Wheaties along with tokens etc..

2nd pic is of me returning the ring to the lady while on my lunch break at work.

Man you got nice load of coin there, and I see you put many in those coin protector things instead of like me that have em scattered loose in different junk drawers, all over the garage etc. I should do something about it, but instead I can look at pics like your - WTG

What a great year Bryce.........CONGRATULATIONS............

Nice pile of silver Bryce, 40 Indian heads, I think thats awesome out of all the coins you found this year, I'm still doing flip flops over that large cent you found, that was great. I hope in 2008 we get lots of time to hunt, I have found us some new places to go: schools, parks, ect. look very promising and very old. To everybody out there, have a happy New Years..keep posting and keep digging .....phil. :minelab:

You did very well for the amount of detecting you did this year! Nice Collection of Coins. Hope 2008 is just as good to you as 2007 was. Maybe you will hit 200 Silver in 2008. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you. :detecting:

Man, you kicked some butt! Congratulations..........:detecting:

How long have you had the Minelab? Would you say it has contributed to your great finds at the HUNTED OUT places?
I am gonna get the 6" coil you spoke of...who makes it again?
Personally my experience with the larger coils has not been as good with using the smaller coils....alot of places I go tend to have interferences and high iron minerals so the bigger coils tend to be unstable....and the big plus is the weight....
You will have some great finds in 08......Keep up the good work Bryce! See ya next year! :minelab:

Congrats on the great year!!! I've pretty much experienced the same thing as you at pounded sites. There is a site I go to that seems real moisture sensitive. One time you go there and you find some keepers. The next time it seems like it's given up it's last coin. I actually dug a LC there earlier this year in a place I've been over many, many times. Good luck next year and keep the oldies coming!!!

Ok Bryce..this just confirms it..You need help finding all that stuff !!!
Thats just way to much for one man to have to dig all by himself.......So let me know how to get there and I will help you out. HAHHAHAHAHH LOL

Great and fantastic finds my friend..YOU DONE GOOD

You sure had one heck of a year, and here's to a better one in "08"

the SE has made all the difference for me...BUT only with the different coils I have. The Excelerator coils saved me. The 12'5 " one is a good one and the 6" just simply is the best coil I have ever used. Kellyco makes it and it's a killer coil. I got my Se back in November but quickly sent it back for a replacement because it was erratic at best. It then took another few months for me to figure out the coil was still not performing for me like it should...far too much falsing. The excelerator coils are responsible for about 85% of my finds this year. The remaining 15% was found with the 1050 coil after I finally picked one up.
Have a safe new year

just to get anywhere close to this year. My job situation may change too...so that might make my hunt time even less. I hope not:thumbdown:
