Need help determining what, and how old this is

Hey all,

I found this thing that looks like a VERY old button yesterday while metal detecting. As you may be able to tell, only half of the button is in recognizable shape while the other side is worn severely. If you look closely on the side that's recognizable you can see what maybe a wing toward the side and what may be tail feathers at the base. Let me know what you think this may be and how old you think it is.

Do you have to have facebook to view these? I've done this before and even if you dont have one you should be able to view it if you click on the link. Perhaps i'm wrong but it's worked in the past. Maybe I need to get a Flickr account....

Both links asks for a login.

You can post the pictures directly in your post by using "Upload file"

Here's Flickr photos.

Thanks again.

I would have if it would allow me to upload a larger size. Unfortunately I cannot get them down to that size and still show the whole button. The Flickr site should work.

There are many ways to re-size pictures but the easiest for me to Email pictures to myself and chose medium size when sending. Save the pictures that come back and they are ready to post.

Sorry about the off-topic post............. just trying to help get pictures posted.

Okay, sounds good. I know there are many ways to resize pictures. I was in a rush this morning and was hoping the facebook link would work for most people. How's Flickr working?

It works most of the time until the link is broken. Your best bet is no links and embed in your post. IMHO

It looks like late 1700's . The Half Moon borders that this button has were used on the GW Buttons.

Here's a button expert. http://georgewashingtoninauguralbuttons.com/

He might be able to help.

Wow, thanks for that!! I didnt have any idea it was THAT old. Email has been sent to the man!! If it's that old how much do you suspect it would be worth in that condition?
