New E-trac model soon????

Heard that is a possiblility and decided to sell my new f75 ltd quick. Seems the price goes down rather quickly after a while. Hope for a NEW light weight E-Trac...Time will tell.......Colored screen.ect?????? Have my doubts but also hopes!

A Minelab rep on another forum said rumors like this fly around all the time.

They really have no need for another model at this point.The E-trac is out performing all the other brands..Why try and fix something thats not broke.Maybe another year or 2 we will see a newer model .I would like a screen I can see better in the sun with my dust cover on..Thats all I want at this point Hehe .

I agree - I'm very happy with the ET just the way it is.
But as we all know - competition for sales between companies drives new technology.
There's always a good sized percentage of customers that are waiting to buy the newest and best model of any type of product.
So if and when Minelab does release an ET 2 - one would think there' a good chance that wireless headphones and a color display could be a few of the possible upgrades.

It's been only about a year and some months since the first E-Trac came out, we got a year and half left. Let see if my memory is correct, Explorer XS 2000 to 2003 then Explorer II 2003 to 2006 the the SE. I believe the E-Trac II will have the high tone Ferrous mode, like the old Explorers.

The Etrac, doesn't fit the 3 year cycle of revisions that the Explorer genre endured. The Etrac was introduced to us, outside that cycle and unexpectedly earlier.

As Codan has taken over Minelab, it may not follow the same cycle of revisions for the Etrac..............and in my opinion, I don't think the Etrac needs any improvements anyway.

I also heard that it was going to be the best of the SE and ET in a different box. I was told that something indeed was coming but it was nothing like that. I was confirmed that something was coming though. Don't ask where I heard it cause I ain't sayin'.

I just hope it's not too good because I cannot keep buying new detectors.

Darn, I wish they would come out with something. I sold my E-trac a while back and want a new one now. It would be nice to have something better...but I could not say how it could be....

Except maybe a video representation of what is in the ground.

Man, if any company could do that, they could not make them fast enough.

Actually, there are a few with the screen that shows 3D images. Unfortunately you will need a 3D wallet to get one. Check out the deep scanning detectors at Kellico.

Del they stopped making them deeper awhile back. now they just mod them some way like the new camo models. nothing like being able to sneak up on a coin without being seen

How about one with the same size screen and with the same size #'s as on the Etrac BUT a screen that doesn't have that (sunlight) glare?---That's been a problem since day 1 with ALL the Explorer line (and I've had 'em all).---It's STILL a bit of a problem with the Etrac although not quite as bad as with previous models.---I don't know why they haven't "whipped" it yet (glare).---You don't have that issue with ANY of the Xterra line.--- The faceplate glare isn't ocurring on the Etrac just all the time but you've got it enough to be aggravateing.---Talking about improvements to be made on the Etrac & it really is a great machine but that's CERTAINLY one improvement I'd like to see made.---------Del

I doubt they will make any New explorer models..The Se will be the last.The E-Trac has the large screen and feels lighter/more balanced than the Se(handle angle change did wonders).Sounds like its the machine you are wishing for HH
