I used the 11 inch DD coil for the first time yesterday on the Omega and was getting a "90" on quarters. I normally get a "88" with the the stock 10 inch coil for quarters. The larger coil covers ground a whole lot faster than the stock coil does, but it's a little more difficult to pinpoint with. I had absolutely no trouble at all with EMI until I switched sites. Even with all the wild chatter I was still finding coins left and right, but it was driving me nuts. I finally had to put it back in the car and pull out the Vaquero. The EMI had little or no effect on the Vaquero. I really enjoy swinging the Omega when there's little or no EMI. It's a coin finding hound. However, you'd better have some nerve pills or a good back-up detector with you when you go to a site that has EMI.
Both the Omega and Vaquero are hot and deep coin finding detectors. So what makes the Omega a lot more sensitive to EMI?
BTW I vastly prefer the Omega over the Vaquero for coin shooting when there's no EMI to contend with. I really like the Omega a lot.
My take yesterday: 1 Kennedy half dollar, 36 quarters, 50 dimes, 9 nickels, 72 pennies including a 1946 wheat penny. Total coins: 168.
