You posted after 35 years...you finally found a silver dollar and I hope you find some more...Your due!. Well you brought me good luck as Ive found lots of other things....just no true silver dollars. About 8000 coins,(lost track) some cool stuff, tokens, medal, cell phone, 1939 license plate, etc ,some gold but nooooooo old silver dollars. Well, I got a signal today...thought it was the usual quarter but numbers just a bit off. To my suprise in the hole. 1937s half. My first older half! Thought it wasnt even real for a minute as the weight was not what I expected. Not a exceptional grade but I figure if I can find after a year of digging....I will find Jimmy Hoffa in 35 years....Just my thinking!

Happy Holidays!

Nice goin there,Many congrats on the finds!

I'm still looking for my first silver half dollar - would really like to find a Barber - but I'd be happy with any old silver half.
To date - I have found three half dollars but they are all 1970's Kennedy's.

Happy Holidays ! --- Mark

Thanks Bob!

Mark...your ahead of me...sorta.....the one I got today is my one and only half dollar. I going to guess that most of the places that I go, that many hunters have been before thus cherry picked out most of the big stuff so I get to find the possibly older and smaller items.

I know more larger coins are out there....we will find em!

Im making a million....one penny at a time!

Good luck to you!

I am sure you will find one soon. Big silver is always one of our goals, I watched a friend dig a Walking Liberty half and I commented "one day I would like to find one of those" 6 days later I did! Later in the year I dug a Barber half and was astounded by the condition of it. What is very odd I have found two older halves, 1940 Walker and a 1912 D Barber but I have not as yet found a silver quarter! Another odd thing I found 2 Large Cents before I found my first Indian Head....go figure.

Nothing like the thrill of rescuing big silver coinage unless it is gold coin and I am still looking for that first gold coin myself.
