I went home to Mississippi this for the latter part of the week and weekend to visit my 87 year old Dad (Mom has been gone 6 years now and he lives alone) and 82 year old Aunt who is a widow and lives alone also (I check up on them a few times a year and take care of anything they can

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It was a wonderful weekend for me (in more ways than one!).

I will put more pictures as soon as I finish cleaning the Barber dime. I am amazed at the good condition. It appears to be at worst XF condition and still has some of its original shine (I wish I could say it was AU). The black crust is almost all gone from soaking in warm water and using an ultrasonic cleaner. It is a really slow process though.

This coin must have been brand new when it was lost. Whoever lost this coin probably went hungry, as it was near the cafeteria.

I have been working on the 1892 O Barber dime to see what was under the black crud and it is turning out to be a very nice coin.

Finding this coin has really stoked the fires and has me really itching to hunt more!

This is what it is looking like so far (still some crud to go):

Very cool firsts. 2 1901 barber dimes are my oldest silvers. Just purchased the E and feel more confident than I did with the last detector. "V"

Thank you for sharing.

Believe me, you won't go back after using an Etrac. If silver is there, the Etrac will see it!

I hunted for 3 plus years before I found my first Barber and then got two in three weeks. I used to look behind old houses for musclecars, but now I find myself drooling when I go by old homes with big yards.

I hunted today in a place I thought had been covered and still found a three wheat penny pocket spill. Finding a wheaty made my hunt, and 3 in one hole was even better.

If you are still learning, check all the comments on the post from drwaitnonadime to experienced Etrac users, because there are some good tips there.
