Super cold day produces HOT finds....

started off the hunt this morning at 26 degrees and strong winds, man it was COLD!!! Even when we were finished at 3pm it was only 33 degrees. I was chilled to the bone, but the finds were coming and I stuck it out.

Hunted with my buddy DiggerDan today and we went knocking doors. Got permission at the very 1st place we stopped at and the first silver of the day was the Niagra Falls pin, it is marked sterling on the back. Got a few wheats, one 1936, rest are 1916-1919. Found a 1907 barber dime that was 3" deep, thought it was clad, nice surprise it wasn't!

Found something I have wanted for a long time in the backyard, a sterling thimble. I have found a lot of thimbles but this is my first one that was sterling. Got a 1899 Canadian dime and 2 injuns....1907 and 1893. Great hunt even with the cold weather!

anyone have a canadian coin pice list? I looked on ebay and there is two varieties of the 1899 one with small 9's and one with large 9's......mine appears to have the large 9's comparing to ones on ebay....it is $120 buy it now....wonder if it is a key date?

Great finds, it was very cold today, got out before 8:00 am and brr it was chilly. Love the Canadian dime don't see to many of them in our neck of the woods. Of course the Indian man is going to have his quota and very nice thimble and pin. Good job Terry!

The finds kept you warm didn't they Terry! Thanks for the pictures. Too bad that thimble is smashed, its very cool. Wonder about a jewler repairing it?

well I found a canadian coin price list online and mine does have the large 9's, appears to indeed be a semi key with 1,200,000 mintage
depending on grading it is $60-120, not too bad....:clapping:

All nice coins - really like the Canadian Dime !

The Indian man stricks again... AWESOME how many so far this year ? :clapping:

You are like a machine Terry, you keep finding the good stuff. Congrats on another great day. I really like the thimble and I want to find one of those really bad for some reason, I think because I remember my grandmother using a thimble when I was a kid, at least I hope that is why. -- Randy

Despite the cold...........you dug some nice goodies....................Hawkeye Jim.

Those finds would have made any day feel like a 100deg. Excellent hunt thank you for posting and congrats :beers: I found a 1907 Canadian dime and I am just as proud of it as I am every other coin.

Thank you for sharing,

Moose

Dude, you're a-rockin'!
Doesn't it seem like when the finds are coming out of the ground
the frost bite stays off the fingers & toes?

Awesome stuff...

Nice finds! Congratulations!!
