Yesterday, I posted photo's of the finds from my last few hunts in this forum.
Got lucky - had a great week - found some nice old coins - including a 1946 Walking Liberty Half Dollar - the second one I've found this year - they sure are great looking coins !
But the coin I keep thinking about the most is the 1906 Liberty V Nickel that I found at the church that was built in 1864. As mentioned in my other post ... this Nickel was down a solid 6" - in a very hard packed gravel / dirt parking area. The ground is so hard in this parking area - that it took me more than 5 minutes to dig down to the coin - digging in layers - pulling one stone at a time out of the hole with my finger tips. Even though the E-Trac had to see through almost solid rock - I still got a very clear - FE (7 to12) - CO (11 to 13) target ID.
This totally amazes me !
