trashy parks what to use

I would like to know what to use for a coil in heavy trashed parks
please help thanks stevew

I usually use my 6 X 8 SEF and it does fine as long as you go real slow. I also have a 6" DD but hardly ever use it. Good luck

8x6 SEF is a trash killer. I love it in trashy places. Great coil.

I use the 6x8 SEF also but I have a 4.5x7 EXcelerator coil that I like to use in close to big metal objects. I can run the sens. at 6 and pick through just about anything with 3"-4" depth.

I have the 6x8 SEF, the 4.5x7 & 6" EXcelerator coils, and Sunrays 5" & 8" coils. My favorite for real trashy spots is the Sunray 8" coil. For those super heavy trashy spots I prefer my 6" Excelerator coil.

If I were you I'd go with either the Sunray 8" coil or the 6x8 SEF coil. The stock coil does well in trash too.

Hey guys,
I am just wondering whats up with the 8 in coil that comes from minelab? Does anybody use it and if not why not or if so why so. I just would like to know what you might find different with the other coils.

thanks,

I have one, I never use it. The 8x6 is much better.

The 11" Pro coil is good in trash too, it seperates like a razor... the 8x6 is a little better but the 11" will work in trash just fine IMO.

the 8x6 is only slightly better if at all. The smaller coil will get into tighter places but as for seperation... i'm not convinved it is better.

I think the 8x6 is better when the trash is VERY tight and VERY heavy (digging multiple targets in about every hole). I am very impressed with it, as it can pick out deep targets through the crap pretty well with a super slow swing speed. I just had a 7 silver day with it on Saturday (3 Barber dimes, 2 Mercs, 1 Roosie and 1 Type II Std Liberty quarter (no date)) in a heavy trash area that everybody just kinda zips right through! My friend was using the stock coil and got only 1 silver.

I agree that the stock 11" PRO coil does a great job in medium to heavy trash. But if the desirable targets are less than 10 inches and the trash is very heavy, out comes the 8x6!
