Thanks for the comments. Dangit Ron, you got this started with the test...lol. I normally run supertuned, min disc and would not have even known where tabs disc out at if I had not picked up the 5x10 Elliptical coil to hopefully make the Vaquero a more versitile machine as I am looking to do a little more coin hunting. I just would have thought that tabs would have been a little closer to the Tab mark. My Sidewinder is dead on when it comes to each mark on the disc knob. Well, I guess its time to start a whole new test of all targets!
Rather than trying to test all the junk items with each coil, you may want to just carry some sample trash targets with you and just set the disc on site.
I never even thought about you changing coils, but now that you mention it I noticed that when I change to my 5.75" concentric the disc settings change.
That 5x10 is a good size coil to hunt with, I had one for another brand detector that I had and that was about the only coil I used. It gave me about the same depth as the stock 8" coil, the ground coverage of a 10" and worked pretty good in the trash. I have never seen or heard of a 5x10 that will fit the Tejon, but I will start watching for one. Is the 5x10 something they still make new? Here is another simple little test,

If you get a chance air test that 5x10 on a dime, along with the stock 9x8, would really like to see if there is a lot of difference on a air test depth. Just use the same detector settings for both coils, not looking for max depth just difference between the 2 coils.
