Weekend field hunts, Large cents, indians, silver, buttons

Spent the whole weekend hunting field sites where old sites were once at.
Saturday Teverly came up to hunt with me and we hit a one room school house and a homesite, both on 1886 map....long gone now, just corn fields.

I got 3 indians, worn barber dime, several worn crusty wheats, large lock, but my favorite find of saturday was the "Free Bully Time" token from Delphos, Ohio. There has not been fairs in delphos since 1930's.

Today I went back to the field less than one mile from my house. It is a super hard field to hunt iron is insane, I had to go thru like a snail to be able to pick out anything. But it paid off nicely, got some nice buttons including a scoville eagle button. Also got 2 real nice condition Large cents. 1851, and 1854. I found them about 15 feet apart. made my day!

All weekend I used TTF and my small SEF 6x8 coil.

Great finds! Those large cents look real good along with the rest of your finds. All you need to find now is a big fat double-eagle. Be sure and post it when you find it. HH :minelab:

You've got some great find's there Terry and like you, I really like the token

Again great token and all the other stuff, wow you always have the most interesting diverse finds, shows the truth of the range of signals you dig some "junk" signals are really the best things we might find!

do you hunt fields? Mark in Iowa has found LCs before

Awesome Terry! I really like the LC's.

Stay with it Jim. I know my chances here in central Nebr. are really rare, but I do know of a guy in Omaha that has found 3 or 4 since the 80's.

All good stuff Terry. But those LC's jump right out and say HOWDY! Congrats on another great hunt. Better make the most of it as the temps are getting colder. Soon it will be time to hit the maps and plan your strategy for next year. HH Randy

I have hunted some fields, that's where I got my seated quarter earlier this year.........I know Mark and a few other people around here have found Largies, but some reason they avoid me like the plague........some day!!!!!!!!!!!
