Went back to the courthouse and hit the worst trashy erea, Barber dime, 4 Indians,18 Wheaties,Ringtail,2 cuff links and a flat button I think.

Hit the realy bad erea where the ground is full of trash from the two earlier buildings that burnt. It is so bad the Etrac would run 4 to max. of 9 in auto.I used factory coins with fast on deep off and dificult on.4 of the wheats have rust stuck on them from all the nails .Over half the coins were not even able to be pinpointed in pinpoint mode because of so much iron next to them. Digital numbers were all over the place as well.
None of the targets were over 6" as would be expected under these conditions.Several were one way hits only, but in pinpoint I could tell there was big iron close by and so dug them. I had to pick out several old rusted nails in most of the holes with my probe.

Starting to learn a little more about iffy signals under the above conditions.Sometimes even when there is a iron crackle mixed with a good signal it will be a coin very close to iron, especialy on one way hits.

The erea had not been hit very much because most machines are completely worthless there.I am sure there are a lot of good older coins left that even the Etrac can not reach through such heavy trash. My F75 will go nuts in this part of the lawn and the ferrous meter will almost peg out even with the little coil.

Did I dig some trash? Yes a lot more than usual as I have been digging very little most of the time.
Now if I just had more time to hunt, Ray.
PS any info on the button would be appreciated,Thanks

The ET will make those places that are next to impossible come alive that's for sure. I have a couple sites that sound like yours. I was worried about taking a machine I was so new with and wasting a hunt so I took a backup and never needed it. Heck I kept busy digging conductives out of the piles of ferrous crap. I have dug more silver in hunted out by others and myself areas in the past 2 weeks than I have dug in 6 months with other machines.

I am posting a picture with a little info on your button I hope this helps.

The flat button could be Civil War, as they were used pre and pot war. Generally, if Civil War, it would be considered as Conferate, as they generally wearing clothes from home, not uniforms, like the Union troops. That's expecially true for Missouri troops.

keep on diggnin'

Great finds Ray!! That site sounds challenging to say the least :) Hope you get a chance to go back with a small coil.Thx for all the pics.HH

Great finds and glad to see you got out. Now is only I had time to hunt. Been down and out with the back problems and hope to get out this weekend. Gonna hit an iron infested area just like you described above.
