whats the best detector you ever had

Not sure I can say best but years ago I bought new in the box 6000/Di Pro. I've had my most and best finds with it but that's because before I bought it all I had were used beat up detectors BFO, TR's and finally just pulled the trigger for a new White's. Most & best finds because I back then put a lot of hours on the White's plus found an out of the way spot that gave me lots of silver coins, wheats, buff's and stuff. Those were the good days. The meter was a nice touch. Kick me for letting it go
Now have detectors from the Compadre to V3i. For some reason I use the Compadre more than anything else - might not go real deep but it's fun, simple and works for me.

Fisher C$, I still own it. Used to own three of them. Next would be CZ 5. I've owned about 30 detectors in the past 20 or so years and I keep coming back to the Coin Strike.

I've posted about my White's 6000 Di/Pro SL in the past... It's My Best Machine because It's the one That I struggled with the most... It had a bum coil when I got it... Monte Helped me sort that out... Then Came the hard part... Everything I thought I knew about it was no good because I had started out with that bum coil....Pinpointing on that beast was the toughest thing to learn... I'd find a target... Then get My Vaquero to verify and pinpoint.... Finally The president of my metal detector club.... Showed me how "The Cone" actually works... I can to this day.... put a dime in the dead center of 950 donutt every time... I have tried Other coils over the years... The 950 Is the perfect coil for that unit as far as I'm concerned.... Everything I learned on that 6000 has gone with me to the next detector... It's still my Baby Doll... View attachment 40732

Still one of the best detectors ever made and still sought after even today by folks who have used them in the past.
