Why I wear boots in the water

Besides keeping the sand, gravel and shells out, finds like this one are why I wear boots. Dug this up today when about belly deep in the water. A lady who was nearby with two kids on boogie boards saw it come up and said she had no idea stuff like that was in the water and she would not want to step on it.

Boots for me Too!!!
I found this yesterday lurking just below the surface. Step on this and your going to need a tetanus shot for sure.
Hunting in dirt and sand, I make sure my tetanus shot is up to date, once every ten years. Just do it on the 50, 60 , 70, etc.... Nasty disease if you get it. Easily preventable. Why take a chance !!!

Safe hunting !!!

What amazed me was the lady's comment about not expecting to see anything like fishing equipment come up from the bottom when every morning at sunrise there are people all set up and surf fishing. Between 9 and 10 am the surf fishers leave when the beach starts to get crowded with the sunbathers.

Y'all's makin my toe nails curl.
Was detecting for a couple hours today. Waves in the three to four foot range still so I stayed to the sand and only got my ankles wet. Saw a guy fishing pull in a shark that was about 3 to 3 and a half feet long. He did the classic picture pose with a shark. Stood over it straddling it and holding its nose up while people took pictures of him holding the nose up showing all the teeth. After a few pictures he put it back in the water. I was looking for cuts in the water and not seeing any indicators that looked good. Hopefully the waves die down; then I'll get back in the water.
