[/img]Well this is another first for me! I dug a Barber quarter up from about 6 to 7 inches. I uploaded Andy S. coin pattern and tweaked my settings to match Nebtrac's from his U tube video. Thanks Nebtrac, for posting the helpful info in the :First Hundred Hours video. I had dug a wheat cent about 20 feet before I hit this signal. There was not a clear and stable number readout for either target! I dug by sound! Repeatable sound! I almost passed by both of these old coins because I was waiting for a perfect 13-42 on the wheat cent and a perfect 13-39 but the numbers never did settle down. What about y'all? Do y'all dig my numbers or sound?
Anyway, this has been a great afternoon! When I pulled that quarter out of that clod, and looked at it, my heart started skipping! I felt the same feeling one feels when he kills a good buck! Y'all have a good weekend.

WOOOOHOOO Congrats buddy!!! still waiting on my first barber!!!

What an exciting day! You know what it is about this hobby, don't you? It's the HUNT! It is no different, like you said, from scouting and anylizing an area looking for sign and then having it all come together in the form of a nice Buck or Bull elk or a Barber quarter. Adreneline Rush! Very Cool.

Congrats , very nice !

The thrill of finding a Barber lasts days and your first Barber coins (dime, quarter and half) will always be the best of memories.
Congrats from a dirt hunter

Great looking Barber Quarter !

Awesome find Kevin. I could take you to within' inches of where I dug my first Barber quarter. I wish mine would've looked as nice as yours! Great find my friend. Thanks for the pictures, kind words and yes...tone first.

That is one nice coin! There is a lot of detail in it. Well done.

You'll find the deeper they are and the more trash next to the good stuff the more the numbers vary. Always go by tone first. The more you work with the Etrac, the more recognizing the good tones will become second nature. I will say this though, in my opinion, there is no other detector that maintains good TID numbers at depth better than the Etrac.

Excellent.

I'm waiting for my ETRAC to arrive.

sweet find, I remember exactly how excited was when I dug my first barber quarter I was using an ace 250 and it was about 6" deep unde a bunch of roots, took me 20 minutes to get it out! I have it on video so I have relived the moment many times! CONGRATS

...too easy eh ?
