This is an easy one--just as easy as "1,2,3"! ;)---You can answer to one of the three & give a reason for it if you wish.---Come to think of it, you don't even have to answer to ANY of it if you don't "wish" to! :lmfao: -----Regarding the Etrac audio response--which do you typically use the most & why? (if you want to elaborate)-------(1) Normal-----(2) Long-----(3) Smooth-------I didn't put pitch hold in there because I think it "sucks"! -----OK, ok, you can "fess up" & put pitch hold in there as a (distant) 4th if you wanna! --------Kinda fun, huh?-------Del

Almost always use 1. The reason is thats what I started out with on the first 100 hours and it "bugs" me to switch it and learn another way. Don't know if that's right or not, just the way I'm using it for now...have too much fun so far!

1 --- ( Need to try the others out and see what they are like ).

1 - Tried the others.....don't like 'em!! Normal gives me a nice precise and crisp signal.

Gaz.

I have tried the others but find them to be way to delayed and lacking in preciseness.Pitch hold would work well for ferrous 2 tone if it did not lengthen the low iron grunts and just the high tones.
Any of the others might be fine if used where signals are very few and far between. Also the pitch hold might be good for folks with slow ears

Del you are missing the boat .pitch hold is the only way to go I like because of the sov and excal except its not rejected its accepted threshold's. I have found countless silver coins by the threshold change I get close to a target and it changes to high I am all over it looking for the why! miss it by a mile or an inch. everybody I teach the SE or E-Trac too learns with Pitch hold its a great tool give it a try HH RonC

The reason is I like the Sovereigns tones as they are easier to hear for me with my bad hearing and the pitch hold will hold the tone of the last target making it easier to hear for me. Normal is OK too but find the deeper targets the tones are very short and sometimes so short I don't notice there was a signal as the threshold returned too fast for me to hear it. With the pitch hold I find the whole threshold changes so I know it seen a target. I been doing much better finds wise since the SE Pro had it and I was able to use it and use it on my E-Trac too. I have another guy trying it and he had all the Explorers and now the E-Trac and since he went to pitch hold his finds have more than tripled. I like it and I let James ND try it and he said in trashier area he didn't like it at all, but feel he is not used to it like I am.

RonC---Not missing the boat for me with the pitch hold response--it's not for me.----I have given it a try, many tries (long ago) on my SE's & then again on the Etracs.---I teach 'em to use the normal audio. :smile----Different strokes for different folks, that's what makes these Minelabs so great.-----I used the audio 1 a lot on the older Explorers but got into useing audio "normal" on the Etrac & like so many others, I like it best.-----I haven't found countless silver coins (I can still count the ones I've found) :) but most of them I've found has been with the audio 1 on the Explorers or "normal" on the Etracs.-----I apologize if I "rubbed you (or anyone) wrong" on the pitch hold thing.----I should have used a better choice of words.---I'm sure it works very well for SOME people and I'm happy for you, Rick or anybody else that makes good use of it (pitch hold).-----OK then---1,2,3, or 4!!! :)----------Del

I must not be "normal" as I like number 3 (Smooth). I have used normal and pitch hold but always go back to smooth.

Fair enough---your opinion (everyones opinions) are respected!-----If it works for ya---I say "go for it!! -------Thanks, Del

It is one of the features that Minelab introduced with the Sovereign and can help with weak signals because it will change the threshold tone to the target tone giving you a better chance of making a really nice find.

Just saying...
