    Weak Pinpointing

    The RX Gain effects A/M which may be why your not getting the depth you think you should. The main purpose of the A/M setting is used in pin pointing. The closer to 100 the deeper it pin points but makes pin pointing shallow targets difficult, and vice versa.

    It's easy to over think the V3i. As stated above I just ground balance and go. I've found the area determines the gain and disc settings. If the machine is noisy with no coil movement turn down the disc, if it false's with coil movement turn down the gain. Picking the right filter will help you...
