Tell us how long you been Metal Detecting

Started in 1972 with a Radio Shack detector I got for Christmas.

Headphones won't work after update to v1.00

Got it figured out. I was misinterpreting the instructions to mean turn the headphones and the remote on at the same time to pair them. Remote needs to be on already and then press the “-“ key on the headphones. Paired right away. I used to have to write technical policies and procedures...

Headphones won't work after update to v1.00

According to the website updater, I successfully updated both my detector and my WSA2XL headphones to version 1.0. However, I am unable to get the headphones to pair. I reinstalled V 1.0 to the headphones a second time but still unable to pair. Anybody else have this problem? XP Website is no...

How to Determine depth with XP Deus

My understanding of the depth meter on most, if not all, metal detectors is that they are calibrated to a specific coin size by the manufacturer. If your target is smaller than that coin, it will read as deeper than it really is. And visa-versa. So, on pretty much all detectors with a depth...

    Learning curve

Never used the V3i but read quite a bit about it. The Deus will probably be a piece of cake for you. Learning the language it speaks will take the longest, I suspect. Lots of auditory information, and lots of ways to customize it to your liking. Man, it is a fun detector!

    swing speed

Even at a reactivity of 0, you will get better depth with a fast swing than with too slow a swing. Also, will get a tid on deep targets with a fast swing. Test it for yourself…..

    Deusc2 Beach P program.

I will be interested in hearing the reply to this question. I used this program the last time I went to the beach with some tweaks. Salt sense 6. Reactivity 0. Changed from square tone to pwm. Sensitivity 96. Found that a slow sweep speed actually hurt my depth and tid. I was probably sweeping...

Why so many people dumping the Deus 2

I don’t think I have ever purchased a new detector that did not require a learning period. The Deus 2 has so many programs and so many settings that it will require a longer learning period. This is my first Deus. I have about 20-25 hours on it now and have gone from frustration to excitement at...

    XP Deus 2 Depth Concern

Sweep speed is important and affects depth. Too slow = less depth. Try faster sweep speed.

Am i going to regret buying the Deus 2

I’m thinking this Deus 2 will be my next new detector….

Am i going to regret buying the Deus 2

I have yet to buy a detector new to me that I don’t dig a lot of trash at first. It’s part of paying the dues to learn the detector, don’t you think? What fun would it be to buy a detector that was so brilliant that you didn’t have to use your brain to use? To me, that is the lion’s share of the...

Pinpoint mode as sizing and filter

Last season I discovered the value of using the pinpoint mode for sizing and as a filter and I haven’t seen anyone else post about this feature(maybe I just missed it?). Despite my screen name, most of my hunting is parks, which tend to be trashy. I had read on the forums that pinpoint mode was...

Why an area is never hunted out.....

Had some time today and decided to play a little with my MX Sport to see how coin orientation affects TID. Used High trash with no discrimination, sense at 6, Mild sandy soil , ground balance at 62. Using the 6" Detech coil. Planted a clad nickle flat ( horizontal ) at 5". Sweep TID left...

    Something to look forward to!

I will be eagerly awaiting the reviews of this promising-sounding detector. Very attractive looking package. Very interesting features. All new way to discriminate. Lots and lots of questions to be answered. What I have seen so far (which is very limited) has enough potential that I will be...

    Audio clipping on the Impact?

Does the audio on the Impact get clipped when a lot of target ranges are rejected? I ask this because clipping is very evident on the Fors Core even with just some rejection, to the point that I usually reduce the amount of rejected targets rather than increase it. A lot of the areas I hunt are...
