    V3i Software - upgradeable?

Is the V3i something that needs software upgrades? I bought it used (twice used) and the serial sticker says it was built in 2014 but am curious if there are different software revisions or should I be good to go?

    Question about pinpoint mode

I definitely was doing that. Although new with the V3i, I've had an Eagle spectrum, spectrum xlt, and two different DFX detectors prior. I've just never experienced this behavior.

    Question about pinpoint mode

Very new to the V3i. Searching an old park today. Occasionally, I'd get a fairly good signal swinging left and right but when I would pull the trigger to go in pinpoint mode, I'd find nothing in the area I was scanning. This happened on several targets. Other targets it would work fine. I never...

Is it ok to add a loop support to a water detector? The screw/nut combination thingy on my Surfmaster PI is loose and although I can tighten it up - it loosens right back up. Will the support fix this? Thanks for your help! Chris

    Question about freshwater lake temperatures.

I haven't invested in any sort of neoprene or diving suit and initially plan on just searching with swim trunks and such. My local lake temp right now is 51 degrees. If I'm going to be searching thermally unprotected, what is a safe minimum temperature to go from? Is 51 too cold? I rtealize some...

Can anyone recommend a good beach/water pouch?

Looking to get a good pouch to use while water hunting. Is there any real "Cadillac" out there or will just about any pouch do? Thanks Chris

New owner of a Surfmaster PI Plus

Today I became the owner of a very gently used Surfmaster PI Plus with weighted coil. This will be my first underwater detector so I will be doing a lot of learning. I already realize that a better choice could have been made for my "freshwater" hunting but budgetary reasons ($300) prevented me...
