    E trac rocked it today.

Went back to a permish I hit last week, swinging buddy Ron decided to hit other pastures. Found a total of 3 silvers, 1 buff and 9 wheats, all less than 3" deep, in a sea of nails that are 4"-9" deep. The yard is 50x150. I'm still beta testing Elmy's magic program, which is based around his...

    New e-trac?

As much as I like a removable battery, if they could put a nox battery in the machine, that would save 4 or 5 oz. Basically, build a machine that a 100lb woman could swing for a couple hours. Then throw on a user button like the ctx, and add extra features to the qm button with a long hold.

Today I witnessed a MAGIC show

That's a great hunt! Elmy's pattern is certainly effective. The same thing has happened to me: I'll pull out a nail or two, close up the hole, rescan.... zoinks!

Anyone moved from the Nox 800 back to a CTX3030

Was, heh, swinging with the mrs today. She loves the etrac with Elmy's 1-10-- it is so bloody easy to use. Beep and dig, beep and dig. By comparison the nox is just impossible-- so slow, so chirpy-- you get bogged down immediately. I feel so bad having a newbie swing it. Set the ctx up...

Anyone moved from the Nox 800 back to a CTX3030

It isn't so much as depth as what keeps you from digging less trash? I mean how far do you need to go--- Manchuria? They all go deep enough-- I have all 3.

going form Nox 800 to CTX3030 swing harness question

Mind sending some pics of it, Rich? I thought about sewing one together... If Elmy's tips keep on being so profitable, maybe I'll just hire a couple kids to swing and dig for me...

    FE-CO question

It is too chatty, imo. You get bogged down chasing ghosts.

    Help hunting in iron

I'll second Elmy. I always assumed a more open pattern was da tits-- conventional wisdom is that a pattern that is too tight will null good targets. I've done alot of experimenting-- Elmy is right on this. From now on, inland coin hunting, I'm going to use a very tight pattern: saves time...

    FE-CO question

Today, with the Etrac, I got a 22 44 reading. Found a bent nail, thought I was fooled, and tucked the plug. Scanned, and to my surprise got a 12 44 reading. A wheat a couple inches above the nail. So yes, your machine is analyzing Fe and CO of everything under the coil-- targets and trash.

    Always look!

While hunting buddy Ronstar was trying to put venison in the freezer, I decided to go to a usual haunt. A block a way, I stopped to chat with a friend taking a walk, then a friend of hers walked by-- my friend said to her friend, 'you should let him detect your yard!" She was down with that...

    FE-CO question

The iron content of the object, mineralization in the soil, depth, size of object, and/or combined iron content of multiple items under the coil. I don't look at that number too much.

Anyone moved from the Nox 800 back to a CTX3030

Pull-- I started with an Etrac, then started swinging the etrac and the ctx, then started swinging the etrac, ctx and nox 800. It really won't be too difficult for you to transition over. You'll probably be really happy at how much more information you get over the nox. Not sure what kind of...

Dating a site by coin dates

My kid has found two surface IH's in different areas of town. How does that happen?

    Numbers don't show-up!

I use AndyS and will flip to an open screen-- It is what it is.... I just move the coil to a different target then bring it back to what I'm interested in.

    Help hunting in iron

Everybody approaches everything differently. I'd probably sport my 6" Sef, and start with a very tight discrimination pattern-- like Elmy's 1-10. Then approach it like an archeologist would-- some time here, some time there, then see if you can find any goodies. Also, I would read every...

Etrac vs Nox-- a short hunt with the missus

You guys are a riot, lolz!

    Help hunting in iron

I'd be swinging a small coil.

Etrac vs Nox-- a short hunt with the missus

My better half has been wanting to try detecting, so we went out yesterday for an hour. This would be her second time out. She swung the nox because of the weight. I was swinging a new 12x10 on the Etrac, beta testing a new program Elmy was kind enough to share. Another tester calls it the...

    Numbers don't show-up!

I dig tones, but sometimes I cherry pick with depth. That's what bugs me the most.
