    My Legend is a "DUD"

Hmmm. Sounds more like a dealer problem rather than a detector problem! I believe you DID get a faulty Legend but if it were me, I would switch dealers and give a replacement Legend a try. It is a fantastic machine with a bang-for-the-buck value that is second to none! Good luck with whatever...

Easter Surprise, SILVER in my change!

Yesterday when I purchased some items at my local Dollar General, I found a 1937 Merc dime while emptying my pockets into the change jar! I didn't even have to metal detect that one,LOL. Has anyone else ever been fortunate enough to experience this? Made my day... HH, George

An Injun and a good deed today at the park...

So I decided to give the new version 1.11 update a try at my favorite park today. Within 15 or 20 minutes I popped out this IH penny with a mint reverse but unfortunately a totally trashed obverse. When I first dug it out, I thought I made out 1890 but as the air oxidized it further, the green...

    LG15 vs LG24

I too purchased the pro kit and have basically been using the LG15 exclusively because it gets such great depth for a small call and the separation is phenomenal! I have the SP24 for my Simplex (which I also use pretty exclusively for the same reasons) but I don't foresee me buying the LG24 for...

    Legend Shaft

It is my opinion, from having both the Simplex and the Legend, Nokta should have included the taller middle rod instead of the standard one they ship the units with. I'm only 5' 10" tall and I had the same wobble problem extending the lower rod to the proper operating length. The tall man rod...

    Version 1.11 is up Now

Reply Unfortunately that won't work. I only have a Chromebook as well. It has to be a PC with Windows or a Mac or it won't even let you download the file. Believe me, I've tried. I'll probably take my Legend to work and see if I can download the file there.

    Where the Buffalo roam...

Found this 1926 Buff and mint 1963 Jefferson at the park today. Figured I would get out before the impending snow storm hits us here in upstate NY. Really loving the Legend and 6" coil combo and still amazed at the depths I'm digging up targets. I also can't believe what I paid for this ProPack...

Solid 26 turned out to be a nice high end pocket knife!

I hit my favorite park today and nailed this nice stainless steel pocket knife. Unfortunately, I dinged it with my Lesch shovel but I checked the price on Amazon and it goes for almost $50! Nice "Made in America" knife. I'll take it! HH, George

Sov came out of retirement to find me 141 yr old IH and a pendant

I've been giving the Legend all my attention lately for the past month or so and my Sov was getting jealous so I took her out for a spin today at the park. She did NOT disappoint! Got a nice deep high tone that turned out to be an 1882 IH and also this heart pendant which rang up in the copper...

pin pointer to use with the Simplex

I use the Teknetics "Tekpoint" pinpointer which is exactly the same just green instead of red. Before you ask, yes it will chatter like crazy but thank GOD for the mute feature (which is probably one of my favorite features on both the Simplex and Legend.) :)

    Flying "HIGH" on 4kHz!

To be honest, I do hunt mostly by tones and it's easy for me to discern the trashy targets better by ear rather than TID numbers so I didn't really concentrate as much on meter accuracy. For the most part I think it's within 1 or 2 numbers though.

    Flying "HIGH" on 4kHz!

So I decided to experiment a little with some 4kHz hunting at my favorite pounded park yesterday. I said to myself "let's see what kind of depth this little 6" coil is REALLY capable of" as I lowered my recovery down to 3 and maxed my sensitivity to 30. First, I have to say I was pleasantly...

    9.5x6 inch LG24 coil

Should get the same depth as a 9" coil would.

    9.5x6 inch LG24 coil

I think we're all missing the main advantage point of the LG24 coil. Yes it may struggle more in the really trashy areas we all hunt BUT along with the added coverage (and a little bit extra depth) we get a coil with properly placed coil ears near the center of the coil! I don't know about you...

    Original sovereign coils

You may have just gotten a bad coil. But the hot spot of ANY DD coil is always going to be like a narrow blade shape going north /south. I don't have any problem with mine and have the XS version that came out right after yours. If it IS the NEL coil itself that is incompatible you might also...

    Original sovereign coils

What Rick says is the truth. ALL coils are interchangeable for all versions of the Sovereign. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear that misinformation? Rick is also right that the Coinsearch coil is not waterproof but is an EXCELLENT coil on the Sovereign and gets great depth and...

    Nokta Legend numbers

I too am coming from a "tones are better" perspective. The other day I dug a crusty Zincoln that read a solid 26 both in the ground and out. I thought it was going to be a nickel! The tone was great though so I dug it.

Interesting park find with the Legend today

I completely agree. The depth I'm seeing is unreal! It detects as deep as I want to dig, is easy to pinpoint with and is light as a feather. What more can you ask for in a coil? I'll be 59 end of March so I just don't have the same energy for digging as I used to! LOL

Interesting park find with the Legend today

Found this old Pond's face cream container about a foot deep with the 6" coil today. Looks like porcelain but I guess it's called "milk glass". I think it may be an older one because of the textured inconsistencies in the glass? The top rang out in the upper 40s and low 50s . Given the depths...

New Year's Day SILVER on my maiden voyage with the Legend!

Well, I FINALLY got out today to my favorite POUNDED park and took advantage of the fantastic 50 degree weather to test out the Legend. I had no real expectations of finding much, let alone silver. I started with the stock coil and quickly realized I'd be better off learning this machine with...
