ML-2900 Battery Users... has your signal strength improved with this new battery?

I've noticed a few reviews mention that signal strength on deeper coins has improved since using the ML-2900. Have any of you found this to be true? Thanks for your time.

WTB working Lower Rod for the E-Trac

I find the prices a bit too steep for a new lower E-trac shaft. Does anyone have an extra used one they'd like to sell at a fair price? Kind regards, Sam

    Question about warranty...

Greetings, Back in July, I picked up a second hand Etrac that was advertised "Only used for a few hours..." When I received it, it was brand spanking new. Not a scratch on it... aside from a few tiny ones under the coil. The person bought it from said it was under warranty. I never thought...

    Deep Signal Weakens...Iron?

True or False.... A deep signal (3/4 + down the depth bar) that hits well at first, but weakens after 5-6 passes over it... is likely iron? Edit: To specify

Two old tokens! (Ireland and Nova Scotia)

Greetings! I got out yesterday morning and this morning to a very junky area. There is plenty of hidden history though... if you can handle the carnage in your headphones. 1824 Nova Scotia One Penny Token 1820 Ireland One Penny "Spanish silver" and I will be hitting it again soon. He...

What salt water (wet sand) pattern do you use?

What do you find is stable for you? I like to hunt fairly wide open... and the roman pattern worked okay  for me on the beach. I'm going to head out tomorrow, and I'm willing to try something different if there is something that you recommend that runs stable and goes fairly deep on...

I'll give up on this site, when it gives up on me!

I went back out to the "silver mine" today. I was eager to dig early on, and kept digging nail after nail.... searching for those deep silver. I got a scratchy, iffy tone... and as always gave myself a minute to work my way around the target. All of a sudden, a nice high tone jumped out at me...

Do you or don't you discriminate out the 50 conductive line? (Roman site pattern)

I hunt with the Roman pattern all the time. A friend of mine suggested to discriminate the 50 conductive line... to get rid of a lot of nail signals. Do you hunt with this line open?

What cleaners do you use on your coil?

I'm looking for a better way to clean my E-trac, but I'm scared to use some of the soaps that are under my sink. I went through a stretch of field this morning, and after it dried up, it left a white film that isn't coming off with water. Not sure what I walked through...:surrender: What's...

Two more silver from the new site.

I got out this morning to the same spot my buddy and I have had silver success at. He found three with his CTX, I found two. That's 20 in total over the last two hunts for the good guys Here's mine. A 1907 Edward quarter, and a '52 Georgius dime. (Apologies for the pics. I should have taken...

Being neat when retrieving pays off with silver!

I've been hunting a spot near a popular hangout. While others hit the waterfront, I hit the grassy fields nearby. One of the local landowners was watching me one day while I was detecting. She came over and I talked her ear off... about what I was doing, etc. She said that I was very neat, not...

    1908 "small 8" Canada 5 Cent piece

I hit a spot that I had been to many times with my old Xterra 70. I'm sure many others have hit it before as well, but not with E-tracs... I was going after the deep signals all day. After digging quite a few nails, finally, it started to pay off. Sometimes it pays to be positive. I...

    Sniffing out the deep silvers.

I went out last week with Meditech to an area that we've had some great success in. It isn't too trashy considering where it is. I was hunting in multi conduct. The night before, I watched a video on youtube about deep silver (9"), and how the E-trac reacts. It was fresh in my mind the next...

Little Georgius. (1929 Canada 10 Cent)

Found this guy on the beach today. TID was all over the place, but when I opened up the screen, I wasn't getting any high ferrous numbers. It had a bit of that silver chirp. It was 7 inches down or so, in the wet sand. (Riverside, not ocean)

Do any of you use a harness for the E-Trac?

Surely using a harness must help with the sore shoulder after a long hunt. Does it interfere with retrieving targets?

"Trench art" ring, and my first/worst Indian Head.

The E-trac and I went for a little walk on a nail infested beach where I found some old toasted coppers before. I found this tarnished silver ring. After a bit of research, it seems to be trench art, from WWI (maybe WWII?). On the inside it reads, "Libert

    Sweep arc.

What sort of sweep arc is recommended when in multi tone conduct/two tone ferrous ? Can you go long with the conduct (near 180 degrees)? Should I stay short on the TTF sweeps? Should I always keep things compact and slow? I'm curious as to how you experienced users hunt. :detecting:

    Old pound?

I found this yesterday. Anyone ever found one of these? It's stamped with "20 shillings". Is it an old pound from when coins were in high demand and stock was low?

    Fire Dime

I hunted an old junky spot today in two tone ferrous mode. I heard a high tone and thought I'd investigate. At first I thought it was a bent modern dime... but once I got back to the car, I noticed it was an 1871 Canadian dime with a strange corrosion. I've never seen silver like this before...

    'Ole George...

I revisited a spot that I used to hunt with my old Xterra 70. The E-trac sniffed out this old George dime a few targets in. It was around 7" deep in rock hard ground, and hit both ways. TID wasn't too consistent, but it did stick on 12-42 a few times and had a nice tone. It's in rough shape...
