    It almost rained

I walked outside for lunch and seen the dark clouds coming. Unfortunately, they missed Princeville completely. Looks like it's back to the Xbox for me until we catch a break from the heat/dry conditions.

Did anyone get out this weekend?

I managed to make it out for 2 hours last night. Came up with a 1920D and a 1956D Wheat and another one of those wreathed P buttons. This one is in a lot better shape than the last.

    Silver!

Went back to the old house today. They wanted me to find their property stakes. I found a 1946 D Roosevelt in the process. Way too hot to look any more than I had to.

    06-27-11

I went out one last time before the meeting tomorrow and came up with this 1899 V nickel about 4 inches deep in some rocky junk. I didn't hit it with my lesche but it has a scratch.

Some ACE 250 finds this month....

I recently joined the hobby and here are some of the better finds with the 250. I've had the detector a little over a month. I've found over 30 wheats from 1913-1958 a 1900 IH and a 1929 Half Penny also from this one site. The site used to be the post office back in the early 1900s. The 1868...

Anyone have any idea the age on this thing? 4 inches deep around an old late 1800s early 1900s post office that is now a house.

    6-23-11

You know I opened my mouth about nickels and not finding any silver coins at that house and came up with a 1945 S and 4 clad nickels tonight. Total $1.05 cents. That black crust on there wont come off with a tooth brush should i just go ahead and use a brass brush on it or soak it in something...

    6-22-11

I honestly believe the ace 250 is only effective 5-6 inches max on coin sized targets. I have yet to dig farther than 6 inches to retrieve a coin sized or smaller target. Found an 1890 IH 2 inches down in a flour garden, 1917, 1931 D, 1936 Wheat Cents, and a $0.05 Trade Token tonight.

    WTB propointer

Anyone have a propointer they want to sell? My cheapo cen-tech took a dump on me last night. I was looking into getting a Sunray target probe but it seems you have to keep the pinpoint button pressed in on the ACE 250 to get it to work half right and I'd rather have a free hand. Not to...

    This Weekend

Princeville is having their town carnival/Heritage Day's which I never take part in. If anyone wants to get out and do some detecting let me know.

    06-12-2011

Take from this weekend was 8 wheat pennies 1920-1950, one trade token (copper?) for 25 IN TRADE but doesn't specify what store or town, and a dog registration tag from the 1930s. The last number on the tag is missing as the piece was rolled over on itself. I'll get some pics up tonight. I hit...

    06-09-2011

I found a little silver heart(says sterling on back and is a bit crushed in on itself) and neat button today. Also found a 1913 and 1947 wheat cent that I'm in the process of cleaning up now. You can see the post on the back of the button. The small round piece actually comes off and snaps back...

    Sniper Coil

I absolutely love the sniper coil! It came in Tuesday within an hour of putting it on I had already found a 1900 Indian head, a couple wheats from the 20s and about a dollar in clad. I switched back to the stock coil and there just is no comparison. I didn't notice any depth loss and the...

    Found my first wheat penny!

Shame it was in a pocket spill with a clad dime and two zinc pennies. Still have yet to find anything "old" in the town park yet.

    Saturday's finds

Went out yesterday for a couple hours. Found 3 pennies(66, 68, 82) and two trade tokens from some store or bar in Bradford Il called Dorgan and Blood. I did a google seach but didn't come up with any information on them. One is a $0.10 token and the other is a $0.20. My brother found a...

Ace 250 Pro just came in

Hey everyone. New to the board and newish to MDing. I got semi into it when I lived in Arkansas but haven't done anything with the hobby since 2005. I moved back to Central Illinois in 2008. I ordered an ACE 250 last week and she just arrived today. Going to an old house site at my parent's...
