    2nd relic hunt with v3i

Thanks texjim! I'm thinking of trying just the 7.5 frequency next time to see if it helps or hurts. The last field we hunted was few and far between, but I know that there is more in there! I'm still working in getting the threshold where I want it and the RD just right for these fields. Bubba

    Polar Plot

    2nd relic hunt with v3i

Well my buddy and I headed down to our area in Kentucky and he used his older whites model and experimented with his new Minelab PI. Certain areas had very bad EMI from the overhead power lines. He couldn't get his PI to settle down at all, and was having trouble with the XLT. I could hear the...

Does anyone hunt with the analyze screens?

Hey mike, polar plot helps me in the way the signals show on the screens. Length of pp signals, lines vs circles, quadrants tagged etc. My favorite of course is the nice 2.5 freq line longer than the others. Lol. I still use polar plot. Bubba

Rob (IL) is retiring from here due to some people complaining that you can't post comparisons on here. That's not Rob. It's me. We have a Metal Detect

I sure hope you don't leave buddy. I still am learning more by reading your links over and over and asking questions and learning on the whites forum. I hope you stick around! Bubba

    Steve Herbasch question on v3i

Your message box was full, so I am copying and pasting my question here to you! .....Hey steve, I see you are still using the v3i at times. Are you prospecting with it, coin shooting, relic hunting? I currently have the XLT for relics, the Nokta Fors CoRe Pro pack for coin shooting and CW...

Ok my ground shows 2.7 under each 3 frequencies, and a -92 under the ground part. What does this -92 mean?

how do u run your v3i?

Thank you daddy flea. My wife just told me what the flea in your name stands for. Awesome. I'm very interested in trying the suggestions you underlined. I tend to swing fast as well, so the 10 BP may be just the ticket. I also read that the correlate helps with those small iron blips as well...

how do u run your v3i?

Postal...That was my biggest issue relic hunting the other day, was the small nail and iron bits. I WANT to avoid this as much as possible. Here is what my settings were VISUAL REJECT OFF BCR 2 (I'M GOING TO TRY FIXED SUGGESTION OF INCREASING THIS TO 4) Hot ROCK +1 VDI SELECT BY...

how do u run your v3i?

Thanks for posting that postal. I am renewed myself to the v3i and need to check what my ground is at. What band pass filter do you use for such mild ground? I would assume 5.0 BP? Bubba

    13 inch detech vs D2

JP, I'm also using the stereo mixed mode on my relic program. I am anxiously awaiting some cooler temps and cut grasses/plowed fields before hitting our CW relic honey holes. :-) Bubba

    First time out recommendations?

Postal, I agree now 100 percent. I know that I am still new to the unit, and I'll have to check my settings again later, but I SET IT UP pretty sweet yesterday for a quiet, stable deep coin program and a CW relic program. I find that the RX setting has Soooooooo much to do with stability, as...

    13 inch detech vs D2

WELL yesterday I spent almost the entire day, LITERALLY, fine tuning and experimenting with 2 setups. 1 for CW relic hunting and 2 for deep coins with little feedback. I can say that the deep coin program is quiet! I am trying my best to duplicate our deep relic settings from the XLT to the v3i...

    First time out recommendations?

First of all, thank you so much for your responses and input on the V3i. I ended up getting a STEAL on a used v3i with the detech ultimate coil and 6x10 whites football coil. I just purchased a wireless setup, so I'm excited to get out there and see what all I can learn. I'm debating going...

V3i, polar plot, and Detech 13 inch coil question

P.s. I'm not TOO concerned about turning up the bcr just yet, for fear of missing a good relic or coin in the ground... P.s.s Have you been able to set your machine, with the above set of tools/features to see differences in the screen VISIBLY and HEAR THE SOUNDS AUDIBLY between buttons caps...

V3i, polar plot, and Detech 13 inch coil question

How that this question hasn't been asked before, so here here goes...i have a Quick scientific question for you all who use this combo. I'm hoping to get my machine set up this weekend. But for those of you that have this coil, do you use Polar Plot? If so, what is the accuracy in depth to help...
