    Is it water safe?

    I've owned 4 CTXs, always under warranty, and never had one leak; others experience differs. I've owned 3 Equinox's in the last 2 yrs because 2 drowned. My latest replacement I put in the bathtub overnight and I've put 7 3hr+ hunts on it fully submerged with no leaks; I hope this one is a keeper.

    Equinox # 2 drowned..

    I've drowned 2 as well. One on its first hunt and I was in HI on vacation fortunately I brought my PI as backup. When I got my 3rd it sat in the bathtub overnight, so far no leaks after 3 water hunts.

    Scoop recommendation for mud bottom lake hunting.

    Any long handled scoop should do, but I get mine from John Volek in Houston TX. In muddy bottoms I like to dump the contents in a floating plastic sifter vs trying to sift the muck out of the scoop holes. I then use a pinpointer, retrieve the target and dump the sifter. Best of luck to you!

    I use mine for coverage not added depth. In my highly mineralized soil I gave up on trying to get more depth with detectors or coils a couple years ago. But what I do like is the coverage whether it's exploring for a school in a field which is long gone, a coastal beach I may visit once a year...

    I'm building a Carbon Fiber beach & wading setup for my CZ21 and I'm looking for a source for the handle and top mounting plate. Is Fisher the only option for these parts? A aftermarket handle/grip substitute suggestion would also work since I use a shaft under arm or hip mount except when diving.
