v3i and SEF 12x15 get me some old saphires, topaz and Ice?

I have been finding fewer and fewer targets in my regular hunting grounds. Its gotten to the point where non ferrous targets are few and far between. Running a conservative gain of 5-6 and a disc of 85 and single frequency 7.5 all my grounds are producing dramatically once again. After I finish...

Early portrait on glass found today... So cool.

I found this awesome portrait on glass today. Running mixed mode stereo, it has a copper or brass band around it that has a little of the gold plate left. I found it within the first hour of our 5.5 hour hunt. Its a really trashy area with iron every where but almost all the targets are old or...

Another old gold ring with the v3i and 12x15 sef.

Do you guys ever get sick of digging gold? I find more gold than I do silver coins, well at least it seems that way. The ring is low karat and has been sized. My 10k acid eats it slowly, you can see the staining the acid caused. It looked like a junker from all the corrosion, I polished it up...

Thank you White SEF 10x12 Old coin today-1795

I was given permission to hunt an residential yard in my home town. The home owner lost his deceased Fathers ring back in 1999 while gardening around the house. I found little clad, but lots of deep signals and iron was not overwhelming in the front yard. Trash was present but there where...

Pre-civil war era Powder Flask.... Help finding year please

Thanks, I had to sit down and collect myself for a bit and take a break after finding it. My buddy said start looking for the top, I didnt think there was a chance at finding it but that little 4x6 squeeked it out. I have thought about having it restored and some of those guys do an absolutely...

Possibly my best find ever.... Pre-civil war? Help please.

If this is as old as the 20 stars on the flag than I found my most significant relic of my life and it may be either way. Using the 4x6 and mixed mode, I found it 40 yards south of the house dump on an old wagon trail. The powder measuring part of it was a couple of feet away and down 4-5...

Working the dump gets me old silver. N52 rake.

Well 4 hours later I got a little silver. The dump has been dug and the old bottles are hard to find. This ends my drought of good finds for the week.:detecting: The rake is outfitted with 7, 1"x1/2"x2" n52 neodymium magnets. They will crush fingers and draw blood at will, they are the...

More 10 x 12" SEF finds while looking for deep silver.

8" in mineralized soil is pretty good with the SEF on clad. Congratulations on the great silver!!! I have come to realize that those of us using the v3i are in areas that have really been worked out and we are trying to squeek that last bit of silver out of the hunting grounds.

SEF 10x12 died today(kinda).... That makes 4 white ones.

You should be able to see those numbers on any v-rated coil. They should all be in the ball park.

Finding what we were looking for

Awesome!!!! What kinda depth where you finding these at? And where they mixed signals (iron infested)? I hope you find some old gold or silver.

SEF 10x12 died today(kinda).... That makes 4 white ones.

I would not be afraid of buying an sef coil because of this. It was a simple fix. The hot glue is to keep the wires insulated from eachother and is used throughout the electronics industry. It is not used to connect the wires to their appropriate terminals. Hot glue is not conductive and its...

SEF 10x12 died today(kinda).... That makes 4 white ones.

I wonder how many of my other coils that I sent back where really okay except for shoddy hot glue and crimping? More than likely all of them. I cant believe that they wouldnt use a hotter better penetrating glue, or a better crimp on the box connector. I can only imagine the proffit losses...
