Mediocre couple of days, nothing super….,

Yes I remember those cans you use your thumb to push open the large hole, sometimes cutting your thumb on the metal hole, then push the smaller hole for air flow, then drink up. A metal detectors dream come true no pull tabs thrown away.

    I Love the Beach!!!

I got to the beach this morning around 5:45 am and started in front of the hotel which has a bright spot light that lights up the beach, no need for a flashlight its that bright. I start there and work my way down the beach, free parking until 10 am, so it makes for a good hunt. Lots of targets...

    I need a fix!!!

I have a RTG Pro Aluminum 47” beach scoop. I like the scoop because of the weight and the ease of use. I bought my first one about 2 1/2 years ago ( see picture), some of the beaches I go to have large rocks under the sand, as you can see the tip is damaged. I bought a second one thinking I just...

Another Darn Bottle Cap or Pull Top Signal at the Beach, Surprise, Surprise!!!

I think Draco is correct, it does look like some sort of dedication to someone. I go to many beaches in my area and see the same people each morning, walking, running or walking dogs. One person who I see is a jeweler and he always asks about my finds. I showed him this ring and he said it was...

Another Darn Bottle Cap or Pull Top Signal at the Beach, Surprise, Surprise!!!

The Nox has made it a lot easier to recognize junk for me. I have learned to listen to the sound and tone and combine that with the VDI. I don't like to dig iffy signals. I think of it this way, if I don't dig it I will never know what it is, but if I dig it and its junk I feel I wasted my time...

Another Darn Bottle Cap or Pull Top Signal at the Beach, Surprise, Surprise!!!

At the beach this morning another 14 VDI, do I dig it or not, Ah, what the heck what's another bottle cap or pull tab my pouch is already half full with them. Well Suprise, Surprise just a 18k (maybe 21k or 22k, no acid test for) with a ruby or sapphire, tested 18k but color looks more like 21k...

    Here, Here or Here

Yes the dry sand, I guess I was missing either left or right or not going deep enough, but this scoop moves a lot of sand.

I have a RTG 47" aluminum scoop which is small but weighs less then 3lbs. I think my problem might be the size of the smaller scoop. I used a big boy scoop (CKG) today and first scoop 9 out 10 times I got my target, problem solved. In addition, this is way you dig the low tones at the beach...

    Here, Here or Here

The dry sand because that is where I hunt 90% of the time. Good luck at the beach, it has been very very good to me. Dig those low and mid tones that is were the gold is.

    Here, Here or Here

I see you use the Nox 800, I have the 600, 3 is the highest for the 600. The 3 setting on the 600 is equal to 6 on the 800. I have always used 3 maybe I will try the lower recovery speed to see if that works.

    Here, Here or Here

Standard coil and recovery speed of 3.

    Here, Here or Here

I hunt the beach 99% of the time with my Nox 600 and during my hunts I have noticed that quarters are ringing up just fine (28, 29, 30) but scooping them up is sometimes confusing, they don't seem to be where the sound is, it sometimes takes me 3 to 4 scopes to find it. I like to use the wiggle...

    Miccus 71 Phones

Take a look at these, I have the Miccus headphones when I originally bought my Nox 600 and these are identical to the Miccus headphones. The only difference is a very low bass sounding tone for low tones, not a problem, I use mine as a backup and in my opinion they work as good as the Miccus...

    WOW!!

This morning at the beach with the Nox a solid 9, I'm thinking gold ring it sounded that good. What the heck, its a Ammo Spill, eight live bullets' dug one by one in the same 5'x5' area. Anybody else ever dig an Ammo Spill at the beach?

    Nokta/Makro taking care of business!

I was having problems with my simplex (posted 2 months ago, screen freezing) and went to Nokta/Makro web site and submitted a work request and video for warranty work. The next day I was notified by Andy at "We Dig Metal Detectors", he informed me to send just the Simplex head. The day he...

    Is it just Dumb Luck?

Well said gunwolf, I guess maybe I don't have the patience to spend 10 to 15 minutes digging and my reward is a piece of iron, bobby pin or trash, so I tend to move on from iffy or faint deep signals and only dig repeatable signals.
