    Quarter haul today

I get the same thought going through my mind these days, finding clad and shooting an Elk: 'great, now I have to clean it'.

    weight, legand vrs minlab nox

If weight matters, try the Deus ii. I have both the Legend and Deus-- the Deus feels so much lighter. I usually end up grabbing the D over the L, just for that reason. Not saying one is better than the other, though the Legend is better in EMI, imo. Even if the nox was weightless I would...

    Sometimes I wonder

Love the etrac, but damn, the weight! Though I dig more trash, I prefer the Legend. Lots of emi where I hunt. Jury is still out on the Deus II. My kid rocks it with his ATPro.

    Reality of detecting today

Interesting. Last month found a '99 barber dime in the local city park. blue, and has a weird sort of corrosion on it, like concrete. It won't come off. never seen that before. 6" and did ring up as a classic silver signal.

    Deus 2 Arriving today

Well, the machine is French, after all. So of course it will be as easy as navigating Charles De Gaulle airport....

    Deus 2 Arriving today

thx, TD. Charging, updating... having to learn a whole new machine-- PIA. Updater won't let me get past version 0.71. It shouldn't have to be this hard. Manual is pretty worthless... Created an account, received an email in French that says... something. The legend wins in this area...

    Deus 2 Arriving today

And not a moment too soon: 1. elbow sill sore from swinging my etrac for 3 hours Saturday ( my wife stole my Legend) and 2. heading to the OR coast Thursday. I won't have any cell/internet coverage there and will start swinging right out of the box, so would appreciate any advice anybody is...

Visiting the beach..got a program or two?

I've played around with all settings on the OR coast-- all seem to hit targets just as well as any other. Only found junk jewelry on sand with it so far though. On the beach, it is pretty much a dig everything environment.

    Why all the 800 hate?

Not a hater, but outside of a beach setting, it was not measuring up to Ronstar's F70 or my etrac/ctx. I spent more than 20 hours lugging around multiple detectors, gridding, taking a methodical approach to it all. I was hoping it would be The One, because of the weight of my other machines...

    Elmy s 110 program settings

Yes, the ctx can be set up to use the 110 program, and quite successfully. Numbers are pretty much the same.

It was a dig everything day...

lol, guilty as charged, Ron! When one doesn't find gold very often, one is all, 'no way, it can't be!'

It was a dig everything day...

Hit a usual haunt with my kid. Finds are getting hard to, er, find, so it was a dig everything day. EMI was just awful, I put the Legend on 4 hz, and my boy had a hell of a time with his ATMax. Ronstar showed up and then this popped up out of the ground, with an 18 signal-- which is usually...

    Some recent finds

Oh no, I wouldn't say that, Elmy. Hunting under power lines... 4kz cuts through the emi. No amount of fiddling with ctx/etrac settings clears that up. The merc... that was the etrac.

    Some recent finds

I know! Sometimes after a day like that I almost want to hang the hobby up on a high note, lol.

    Some recent finds

Last week's haul. Because of EMI issues in public spots I hunt, I've been swinging the Legend the last few times instead of my etrac. Two back to back Barbers-- one of which has tar or something on it-- at a local park. Coinstar rosie. Trade token at the same local park. Merc at a local...

    BC question

I've been playing around alot with it, inland and beach, and am pretty underwhelmed by it. Old caps, new caps, aluminum, steel... doesn't matter. It doesn't null anything out, like iron, so if it tells you anything, it must be subtle and I'm missing it. My opinion is it is just a corporate...

    Used CTX

Hate to part with it, but just don't use it to justify keeping it. Second owner. Comes with wireless device, battery and charger. Charger looks like it was dragged down the highway, but it still works fine. Never asked the first owner how that happened. Tennis racket grip on detector grip...

Just wanted to show what a little help from Elmy done for me.

Elmy has a black belt in etrack... no doubt.

Has anyone put together a cheat cheat for american coins and their corresponding numbers on the Legend?

With the Legend, my rule is just dig everything over 40, skipping 60. There is no way to ID coins like one can with the Etrac. Not knocking the machine, it just is what it is. Too bad they didn't convert the Iron and Conductive bar graphs to numbers. Dug a war nic at 28. A merc at 53.
