    May 21/22 Hunt

I spent all last year using mostly Magics setting on the Coin mode with 5.3. I had great success finding silver and gold. This past week I decided to try the Hi-Pro, and went to some of the same parks I have previously hunted. I was using the 5.3 and Magics setting, this time I bumped up the RX...

    Coin Cleaning

Thanks for the responses, I tried a little vinegar bath and then olive oil with a Q-tip to pick up any remaining soil. It came out pretty good and I could see the date much clearer (1907). Thanks again. Ron

    Coin Cleaning

Hi All, Find a V-Nickel this morning! I can barely make out the date, I think it's a 1897 or 87. Is there a way to clean the coin without doing any more damage? March has been good to me (7 Silvers and a V), I will post a picture after I finish detecting this weekend. Good luck. Ron in...

    First silver with V3i

1911-1936 were the King George quarters, the could just make out the 25 underneath the crown. The date should be just above the bow at the bottom. Nice find Jim, I haven't seen one of them posted in a while.

    Toggle Issue.

I had my Toggle break off at the start of a hunt last fall, talk about a bubble burst. While I was driving home all I could think about was having to send it in to be repaired and being without my V3. I posted the issue on this forum and within minutes and had replies, Larry said the Toggle...

TX Boost...Do you use it often?

I used it often when I first received the V3 thinking I would each maximum depth in the area's that I was hunting,(old school yards, parks...), and found that it was not that much beneficial. By not using it I was still finding silver at the same depth as if I was using it. Since I found not...

    January Finds

believe it or not, but I was able to get 4 hours of detecting in early January in upstate New York. We had a few days of low 40's temp's and the snow had just about melted away. I went to a park that I usually hunt once a week because of its large size. I was using my 5.3 coil on Magic's...

    Some finds from 2010

Thanks for setting the bar for 2011 Larry. You had an outstanding year, and I hope it spills over to 2011. This forum I'm sure will help us all top out 2010 totals. Ron

    Wheat Cents and Quarters

I've done the same Steve, I also have baby food jars with the years written on the lids for all my Wheat's that I've found. Once a jar is filled (about 50 coins), I roll and date them. I have my 12 year old son helping me with the project and when I get home from detecting he will sort my...

What kind of hunting do you do?

Almost always, I hunt for Silver coins, Wheaties,...and occasionally Gold Jewelery. I look for any place that my have some history or years of activity. Old schools and old parks have given me the best luck this past year. I don't mind hunting in places that I've previously been to, I just make...

    More Gold

Over the weekend I had a few hours to detect before dark, so I hit the local middle school that has been good for Merc's, Wheaties, and Rings. I has my 5.3 and using Magic's settings. At first I was just searching for silver hits but was having no luck. After a while I started digging anything...

My Trigger Switch Broke Off, Help

Has anyone had this happen to them? Is it fixable at home or do I need to send it back to my retailer?

    A few cool finds

Went out last weekend to a site across from our City Hospital, its an old football sized field that some say was part of the Hospital at the turn of the century, now its just a grass field that is frequently cut. I was using the Coin program with my 5.3 coil. I was pulling up many gulf ball...
