    Back in Business

Greetings from OZ. I've been in the doldrums for some months now, mainly due to lack of detecting sites in my area. Lots of detectorists, beaches sanded in , etc.,etc. It has been said that one in four caravanners have a detector on board these days......we have about 9 Caravan Parks here...

What coil have you found to be the best on the MX5 for beach detecting? CP

    Garrett Sea Hunter

I'm looking seriously at one of these detectors. Reads well, & the reviews stack up ok. I've never used a PI detector before, & the specs state that the pulse is adjustable. My question is, which dial on the Sea Hunter adjusts the pulse?? Probably a stupid question for those who...

    V3i Registration Removal

Thanks, Rob. All sorted now. Just ordered a SPP to try to get a bit of an advantage on the beaches in my area here in OZ. (totally flogged with VLF's by about 25 of us). CP

    V3i....Expert Menu

Sorry, Fellas. :sadwalk: It seems my double post has caused a bit of a problem, & I can see how it made things confusing, to say the least. I did try to cancel one of them, & thought I did, but but they both stayed there! I'll now go and face the gum tree for an hour, & contemplate my navel...

    V3i....Expert Menu

Thanks, yowow#1.............spot on! Everything now back to normal.:detecting: I owe you a couple of these, mate...... Incidently, the OOPS! was because I sent the same post twice....corrected a word, & thought I cancelled the original one. Pete

    V3i....Expert Menu

Help! I'm a V3i newby, & I seem to be locked into the Expert Menu. Every time I press Menu, I end up back on the EM. I've tried everything to get back to the 6 block menu, but nothing seems to work. Where did I go wrong?? CP

    VX3 2.5kHz Frequency

cypearl, I went over a patch that a mate & I have pulled silvers from, & have really covered the ground. Didn't find any silvers, but managed seven modern coins that we somehow missed, & a couple of lead sinkers. Not too bad from a "bare" area.............so, at this stage I would have to say...

    VX3 2.5kHz Frequency

Oops!! I,ve just discovered the Deep Silver programme. Question.: I realise that the Detech 13" DD coil that I use on my DFX will probably not be much good with the 22.5kHz frequency on the VX3. If it will operate ok on the 2.5kHz & 7.5kHz frequencies, then, in theory, it should be ok for...

    VX3 2.5kHz Frequency

I have an area where there are a few deep silvers that are very elusive. Because the 2.5kHz Frequency is best for silvers & copper, would I be better off to run the VX3 in this frequency only, or is there a better adjustment using the three frequencies?? OR......maybe the DFX in the 3kHz...

    VX3 Tones

I've had to have a "re-think" about this tone problem. My DFX has 191 tones only. This can't be changed either, & I always ran it in correlate. It never bothered me with the DFX, so I have to wonder why it is such a problem for me with the VX3.?? I guess I'll have to take both...

    VX3 Tones

I AGREE!! The VX3 tone setup sucks. 1 - 191 ??.......... not much to choose from, there. It's the one thing that spoils a great detector, in my opinion, & is nothing short of annoying! I like the 4 tones on my XT 705 better, & that's why it has become my "go to" detector! (which is a...

    Aussie 3 pence test

Yes. Moved the RX to 10, & the disc to 85.....all good. A mate & I are heading for a paddock this weekend, so I will be able to give the VX3 a good workout on 7.5kHz, & play with the adjustments.

    DX-1 Sunray probe

Agreed. There doesn't seem to be any problem with the VX3.
