We started a Smoking and Grilling FORUM

I'd don't know if I will be able to contribute in this forum. I haven't smoked weed since 1993, about the time I discovered metal detecting. A couple of local IPAs after a long hunt is how I roll.

    Seeking max depth...

The best way to achieve depth, is to scrape the site with a bulldozer. Detect and repeat.

i bought the f44 with bonus items.

Check out the posts by LWS (Lake Washing Steve) and Monte on the F44 and the various coils. They know a lot, it's a great machine. I use it and the F75. Read your manual frequently and experiment with the settings. Good luck.

56 VDI On Indian Head Cent

It may be due to the ph of your soil. One of my hunting buddies told me that he and another buddy had been digging up old coins under Salt Cedar trees that were at a lower vdi than they should have been. Salt Cedars (common here in the Salt River Valley) like more alkaline soil. They figure it...

    CZ-21 or Excalabur II?

Go with the CZ-21. It's built like a tank. One time when I was detecting to Salt River I was attacked by mountain lion. I knocked him put with the coil, kept swinging, and found a 15 gram Palladium ring stamped 950.

    Is there Ore Gold machine?

Just googled it, seems really expensive and iffy. Your best bet it to stick with the tried and true equipment. Purchase Chris Ralph's book and subscribe to ICMJ's Mining Journal. I just wouldn't trust equipment from overseas unless it's Minelab. Good luck. Jeff

Fisher Manta PI, hey Steve Herschbach...help!

I know there have been a lot rumors, speculation, and rumblings about this machine. Everything I have seen is about it being a killer beach machine. My question is will this also be a nugget machine, able to handle Rich Hill mineralization? Been thinking about the SDC 2300 but want to wait and...

Which machine? Maybe CJC has ideas

Going river hunting tomorrow with some friends. We are hitting the Salt River in Arizona. People tube this river by the thousands every summer. They turn of the dam in the fall and now there are only puddles. People drink A LOT on the river so tons of pull tabs and bottle caps. I usually hunt...

Went to go on the site & "account suspended?" What the heck. Sorry if this has been covered in a previous thread. I enjoy going on there & looking at Clive's finds. Hope everything is okay. Jeff

    BOOM BABY!!!

I'm not sure if there's anything more disturbing than a 350-lb. guy getting a boat ride into the swamp from a 425-lb. guy who insists on being called "Big Sexy." Cue banjo music unsettling. Jeff

    Call Me Dubious

But is "BOOM BABY!" THer for planted relics? Jeff

    Duh!!!:rage: :rage: :rage:

Smack myself in the forehead with the heel of my hand. Heading to the river tomorrow, its down to 351 cfs. wide & shallow and tens of thousands of people tube it each weekend from May-September and lose stuff(Sunscreen & beer) all Summer. I have chest waders but they are too thick and get hot...
