    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Blount County actually has a very low crime rate. I’ve never heard a case of locals intentionally targeting tourists, though in the National Parks there is a degree of property crime. Townsend, Tennessee, gets a lot of tourist traffic, which creates a lot of targets if opportunity for petty...

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

I hate to hear that. Maryville is actually a pretty low crime town. Of course, a lot of towns have their bad side of town. The nearby city of Knoxville has a “woke” mayor who has mandated less law enforcement and more mollycoddling of criminals and transients to the point that I’ve pretty much...

He must be lying I guess?

I had mine submerged in a river two or three times without leaks, but the water wasn’t very deep, and not for extended periods of time. I Don’t think it is a true water machine, and was never intended to be, but it was advertised to be water proof down to a certain depth, and...

    Hacksaw Ridge

I saw it. Doss eventually earned the respect of his fellow soldiers, and by doing so, he stood by his convictions and proved not wanting to take a life doesn’t make one a coward.

    Drone video for beach hunting.

I saw an aerial video of the sea shore adjacent to a golf tourney, and due to the angle of the sun, I could see the waves impacting the beach at different angles in different places. It made me wonder if drone video could be used to scout for beach erosion. Just wanted to offer this out for...

    Native American artifacts....

Neat finds, there Okie. Looks like the cover a period all the way from at least Archaic to Woodland.

    Mixing various stones to tumble

On a sort of related topic, some marbles are quite valuable, but are easily scratched or dinged, which lowers their value. I wonder if tumbling them in a very fine polishing medium could remove the scratches and shine them back up like new, or nearly new?

Desmond Dunne has passed away I've just learned. Great guy and always fun to converse with...

I read his posts in the past. Very knowledgeable, and seemed to me a good many. As you said, Test in Peace.

Flammable vs Combustible. (Maybe this should go in the 21st Century Tales Forum???

I sure am glad it wasn't worse. A lot of things we learn the hard way.

Looking for Historical Maps of South Central Tennessee

Perry Castenada Map Collection is pretty good: Use the menu on the left sidebar---scroll down and click on Topographic maps, then scroll down the field of Pre--1945 maps by state. Tennessee is pretty well covered. http://legacy.lib.utexas.edu/maps/topo/

Flammable vs Combustible. (Maybe this should go in the 21st Century Tales Forum???

I learned the difference between Flammable and Combustible the hard way. :drinking: It could have been much, much worse, however........ My former wife and I burnt our paper and cardboard garbage back in the day--my favorite flammable propellant for doing so was Charcoal Starter, falls in...
