Why is a user obligated to make a video or jump through hoops for those who do not own an AT Pro

Buy one and do your own tests or be happy with the feedback, good or bad, from those who bought one. Those who do not own one should cast no stone at those who do. My findings are based on years of field experience. I have used every American made model since 1969 and many foreign detectors. It will come to a point whenI will stop posting my findings. The AT Pro is not the greatest metal detector every made. I have never used the greatest metal detector ever made. A few minor tweeks like cam locks, headphone adapter, moving back the arm rest for better balance, will improve the sound, false signals, and wrist fatigue. The electronics are fine. Great value for the money. Tone roll id superb. Nuff said.

There are people out there that enjoy their new machine, and like to share their findings with others ......They also like to share what they have found via video ..... " A pictures is worth a thousand words " ......So is a video ...... They are making a statement ...... It was not the people at Garrett that broght me to the point where I said " This is really a pretty nice machine " .....It was the nice people who shared video's , and shared their knowledge of their findings with the AT Pro .... For every new product out there , you will find that there are always gonna be the guys who have to have the newest , latest , and greatest detector .....That's great for them .....Sometimes they win, and sometimes they loose ......For guys like me who want to see a machine in action BEFORE buying it , we have the earlier mentioned ...... I will ask questions , and in some cases , the guy with the machine is learning more about the machine than they already knew .....and for me , I get answers that help me make a better judgement ....It's called SHARING !!..... BTW....I don't think that people feel obligated as you state , as much as they feel proud or their new purchase , and proud to share their information ..... Jim

:usaflag:I look forward to ANY new videos that pass through here. I've made a few with my ace 250 and have had numerous requests to make more. And I'm still planning an "All Metal/Dig Everything" video. We just gotta wait until spring.

I do videos because some people need to see it for themselves. Of course you have a few that even seeing a video will claim you either faked the video, or didn't know what you were doing. Those people will never gain from a video or opinions. Sad really.

I did some videos showing head-to-head comparisons because, unlike a posted opinion, you can watch, listen and draw your own conclusions. I plan to do a head-to-head video with the AT Pro and E-Trac when weather permits. I use the E-Trac because for me it has been the best at consistently pulling keepers from a site where most others find nothing.

I don't feel a user is Obligated to make a video - just the user doesn't mind making a video to share for those who can appreciate it. Maybe share to those who may interact and provide feedback.
Myself - I don't do (make) video's, but I can pick those that may perk my interest and avoid those that don't.

For those with a strong interest on a model, a video may provide some clarification. I see it no different in some ways going on-line and reading/researching something to gain a little knowledge which is better than nothing at all.

On-line sites, reviews, videos, will many times steer me on/off certain products depending on my needs. Other times, video adds to what is being conveyed.

I can listen to a radio and get news about a big storm or disaster, but watching and seeing it on TV adds to it. It's like, talk to me or talk & show me. I can choose to listen or watch too.

The Guru said it all as all detectors have their plus and minus attributes and a detector is only as good as the operator( nut behind the wheel). Indeed their are detectorists and guys or gals that swing a detector. As far as videos, input and the like do express your opinion as its appreciated and one might pick up a trick or two sitting behind his PC...and for gosh sakes take all the posts with a grain of salt as there are plus or minus posters and one quickly learns which category they fit into...

Since it has only been a few days since I received my At Pro and many others have done such good work with testing, hunting and videos, there may not be a lot for me to add once I recover from this hernia surgery. I do not like to add a lot of "me too" posts to what someone else has put a lot of hard work into, but I will be checking to see if I can produce the same results.

Having said all of that, I do enjoy reading and watching. One can always pick up a few nuances to try out for yourself. As an example, one of the first things I looked at closely was the headphone connector and that was because of reading someones post on the forum.

I have quite a few things I plan on trying but I need to heal a bit first. :)

jk

All jokes aside, I think people are just anxious to have one. I know I am.

:usaflag:So which category do you fit into Dan?

And for that matter, which one do I fall into?:detecting:

The extent that I feel obligated is that I know there isn't much info out there right now, and even though I'm not the most expert detectorist, whatever I put out there may help somebody else. Even though it's frustrating at times trying to put a video together, I actually kind of enjoy it. Having said all that, if it seemed like somebody was putting pressure on me to do it, I probably wouldn't. I just take the requests as people wanting more info on a machine that is already revolutionary even before you get to how it performs. My decision to preorder the AT back in September wasn't wholly based on Garrett's claims to performance, but the fact that it was able to be dunked, hunt coins, caches, prospect...all those things that interest me in one package. I think there are more folks like me in this regard but they're just not quite ready to pull the trigger on the AT till they feel confident that they will be happy with it. This is a big deal for most! It was only after I told myself that I'd never be happy with ANY detector that I lightened up to the point that I concentrated on my techniques instead of the gizmo. Still, my experience with this gizmo tells me I made a GREAT decision, and I'd like to pass information along whenever I can manage to!

Anyway, I look at it like all those that are asking when somebody is going to video this or that, are folks that will likely buy the machine but just need a little more confirmation that it is 'all that'. The 'greatest'..no. 'ALL THAT', absolutely! :garrett::super:

That will teach me to read the fine print :twodetecting:

There is no obligation at all. :surrender:

is all the people that let others take all the risks and just sit back on their haunches and wait for you and I to learn all the in and outs of a new release before they do anything. What a bunch of losers!! I jump right in with both feet and have a great time learning my new rig, they should do the same!! I got so tired of those types, that I hardly post anything any more. Let them bite the bullet and learn the same way I have!! Cautious they say...loser I say!! Grow a pair and take a chance for once in your pathetic loser lives!! Sorry for the tirade, but this subject just gets my dander up!!

:usaflag:Wow ! You sure are pointing your finger at a wide range of people who visit here. What you call being a loser, I call being wise. The wise people use caution and don't buy into the hype. And I'm not going to go jump off of a bridge just because someone else says it's fun taking risks.

:ranting: Are we having a bad day George?

I thought people were just interested in seeing how his new machine works... i'd say that if you don't want to make videos, don't make them. If you don't want to post about what you learn, don't. If you don't want to post pics of your finds, don't.. I hardly ever do, then again it never crossed my mind that I might be somehow obligated to post anything... I guess I don't get it... but thats nothing new.

Merry Christmas!!
