Mineralized beach sand made my equinox go into overload!!

Also, make sure you don't have sand in your coil cover...I clean that after every use.

    I’ve never updated my machine…

I always update all my electronics to the latest firmware. The manufacturer puts them out for a reason. With 3.0, they added some stability as well as the 4k frequency. I notice the stability on the beach.

Why I dont like the equinox 800

That's odd to me as I've never had a bottle cap sound like silver. Silver gives me high tones and VDI numbers much higher than bottlecaps do. Also, have you tried the F2 iron bias setting yet? It was made specifically to help eliminate bottlecaps.

    Detector wars??

I have an Equinox 800 and a Vanquish 540. I prefer the straight shaft of my Equinox. I've never had any issues with the stock shaft. What don't you like about it?

    LS Pelso headphones Feedback

I've used the LS Pelso headphones for over a year now and they are fine. No issues whatsoever.

    Can't they put a clock on the Equinox 600 & 800

Wait...you have a watch on...but it's an effort and takes time to look at it? I'm confused....

    Equinox water hunters, must see

According to Minelab, it's a small percentage that have this issue. So let's use an example with admittedly made-up numbers: Let's say...5 thousand leaked. That sounds like a lot of leaking units and we would definitely hear about it all over the forums...as we are. However if the total sold...

    Got a couple today....

I too use Park 1 exclusively on the land. I find it's the deepest.

    Man drowns while metal detecting

I would think at the current mid-60's temps, it wouldn't have been the cold. Plus, most divers use a wetsuit. I'm wondering if he had a medical issue that caused this...very sad.

    Equinox 800 & headphones

When I'm at the beach in the sand and very shallow, I use the supplied Minelab headphones via Bluetooth without issues. If I'm going to be in the water mostly and definitely when submerging the entire control pod, I use the LS Pelso waterproof/wired headphones, they work great and were just...

    Nox-- first impressions

Wait, you would actually carry a paper manual with you when detecting? Come on man, this is 2021! Download the manual and keep it on your phone for fast, easy reference! With an added bonus of being able to search instantly instead of flipping though pages searching for what you are looking...

    Wireless headphones for the 600

Any low-latency APtx bluetooth headphones/buds should work.

Okay so I realize I'm new to this brand of detector...

Steve, that IS a coil cover. Pop that bad-boy off and clean under it! If you've never done that, I suspect you have dirt/sand under there which WILL cause it to be noisy! Good luck!
